We recently took a look at the comparison between the human experience and computer science. In our analogy our bodies and brains are our hardware but the things that make us (our beliefs, emotions, thoughts, etc) are like software. We talked about the importance of doing regular maintenance on ourselves and installing great anti-virus programming to keep the evil at bay. Basically we said that we, as humans, get to choose who we are by deciding which software we install.
In keeping with our computing analogy it is important to remember that new developments are happening all the time. Every day scientists work on solving the mysteries of our consciousness and morality.
Time recently reported on the researchers from Belgium’s University of Liege who have been trying to figure out if there are physical indicators that will help doctor’s predict a coma or vegetative patient’s chances of recovery. The scientists are trying to better determine the difference between a vegetative state and a minimally conscious state. Of the different methods these scientists tried, the PET scan, when paired with the FDG imaging agent showed a 74% accuracy rate. These tests don’t measure or dissect consciousness (at least not yet) but they have helped doctors get a better idea of what, physically, constitutes consciousness than they had before.
According to a recent article in Extreme Tech, a scientist named Max Tegmark (from MIT) has decided that consciousness—something we have always thought of as ethereal—is actually a state of matter. He says that, like with liquids, there are lots of different types of consciousness—types that can be tracked and measured using informational theory and quantum mechanics. If he’s right, we’ll be able to measure the difference between self awareness and why we perceive the world in three dimensions.
On the other side of the coin is, of course, the more philosophical approach to the human condition, consciousness and morality. It’s the basis, for example, of the work that Jeremy Griffin is doing with the World Transformation Movement.
Of course, Jeremy Griffin isn’t the only person doing significant work in this area.
A recent article in the Washington Post posited that there was no link between atheism and amorality. The article cites a source that decries atheists for insisting that morality and self sacrifice alone are proof of a deity and then goes on to talk about the different mechanisms through which someone who is not a theist could use “rational choice theory” to justify a self sacrificing act (valuing another’s life over one’s own) or sociologically enforced norms surrounding ethics and behaviors.
The Burbank Leader cites extensive sources that prove that one does not need to believe in a deity or “God” to be a moral person (in spite of what most people believe, according to a recent Pew Research Poll). The article talks about social responsibility being the basis by which we live out our human conditions and navigate the waters of good-vs.-evil as opposed to simply fearing retribution from a higher power if one does not conform to specific constructs of morality and behavior.
Eastern philosophy has been attacking these problems for centuries, coming up with theories on our interpersonal connections, our emotions and our consciousness. Groups like the World Transformation Movement are using science and philosophy to get to the root of our humanity. What do you think? Are you on the side of the purely empirical scientists? Or do you think there is something more…metaphysical guiding our time on this planet (and others in the future if we ever leave this planet and go out into space)?

Arcturians come from the star system of Arcturus. There is a book called We the Arcturians, which was channeled by the non-incarnated Arcturians, but I have not read it yet.
It is said Arcturians are the guardians of planet Earth. They have been watching us evolve for eons of time and their presence is the main reason why Earth has been spared from major catastrophes such as being involved in star wars. I don’t know why, but many starseeds, both the incarnated ones and the non-incarnated ones, seem to have intrinsic reverence for Arcturians.
The way Arcturians work to protect the Earth and her residents is different from that of Alpha Centaurians. Alpha Centaurians are hands-on and practical while Arcturians are more off-hand, observing and guiding us at an arm’s length. Arcturians are certainly not micro managers. They have a way to “live and let live.” I think this approach saves them some stress.
There are times in our day-to-day life when we experience ourselves acting or thinking in ways we wish could be different. Sometimes, it can seem like our thoughts are running on auto-pilot, and whoever is doing the driving is not the most qualified person for the job. These thoughts then lead to actions which we regret later. The reason for this is that we often have un-conscious mental and emotional programs running our lives. Maybe these programs are fine for going about our daily interactions with the world, but what happens when they are no longer helping us to live our lives to the fullest?
The First Step: Uncovering That Which is Hidden
Since they are subconscious, these programs do a good job of staying hidden. Consciousness is not something which can be seen or touched, so it can be difficult to pinpoint disharmonious patterns within it. What are the signs that a subconscious mental program is affecting us? Fortunately, these programs leave traces that they are indeed there. These traces come in the form of negative thoughts, or that nagging little voice in the head. Knowing this, we can follow the breadcrumbs of thought to the root of what is running them.
Thoughts can be likened to bubbles in a lake. We can observe the bubbles on the surface, but where they come from is deep down at the bottom. Likewise, thoughts appear at the surface of our mind, but where they come from is deep down, in the realm of emotions. Thoughts are the surface signs of emotions.
We can begin by examining the inner voice we hear in our head, as well as the outer voice coming out of our mouths, and just observe them.
It can quickly be seen that thoughts occur all on their own, spontaneously, like a radio station continually broadcasting into space. If we tune into the mental stream, they become the central focal point; however, try shifting the dial of focus to the space in which these thoughts are occurring. As you do this, you will discover that the thoughts become blended into the background of awareness.
Now, from this space outside of thought, try observing the content of the mind, just don’t get pulled into it. What do you hear? What is the common theme around which the mental chatter is arranged? Is the voice angry? afraid? guilty? Take this chance to be radically honest with yourself – this is not a time to be squeamish!
Step Two: Removing Identification With the Mind
Understand that these thoughts are not even yours, so you do not need to identify with them. Just like a radio tower, the mind is continually broadcasting thoughts. It is what the mind does, continuously and automatically.
To prove that the mind is not even yours, try this: tell the mind to stop thinking and see what happens. The mind will probably just go right on thinking, against your will. If the mind was really yours, you could tell it what to do and it would listen, right? On the contrary, the mind is an impersonal aspect of our human nature.
Bringing humility into our understanding of this is very helpful. It can be very frustrating when one first comes to meditation and realizes how strong the monkey-mind chatter is, but remember: there is nothing wrong with it. It is only doing what it knows how to do. Just because you have negative thoughts does not make you a bad person. You are not your thoughts! This is part of the collective (un)consciousness of humankind. Everyone else has these same kinds of thoughts too; they truly are impersonal.
Step Three: Surrendering the Temporary Emotional ‘Payoff’
Dis-identifying with the mind makes it easier to go further inward to the source of thinking itself: emotions. Subconscious programs are fueled by our emotions, so addressing them from the emotional level is the key to canceling them.
The reason that these dysfunctional programs are running in our consciousness, despite our desire to be free of them, is because they offer us a hidden payoff. They create the illusion that we are getting something beneficial from them, a ‘juice’ if you will. This may not be apparent at first, as one might think, “How is there a payoff from being angry?”
The ‘juicy payoff’ is the emotional reaction; the feeling that moves through us. There is a part of us that finds a temporary pleasure, or satisfaction, in the feeling of anger, guilt, pride, etc. The part of us which feeds off of this juice is commonly called the ego.
The ego easily becomes addicted to the emotional payoff of negative emotions, and in turn feeds off of the juice. Since the juice is only a temporary satisfaction, the ego must seek more of it, thus perpetuating an endless feedback loop. With each infusion of ‘juice’ into the loop, the addiction becomes stronger and thus harder to break free of.
With this realization, it becomes clear that in order to undo negative programming, we must let go of the temporary payoff gained from negative thoughts and emotions. When this payoff is continually let go of, the unconscious program loses its power and influence. The juice becomes less and less interesting to us.
The next time a negative thought or emotion arises, ask yourself, “What is the juice I’m getting from this?” and “Is it worth the price?” If the juice is found to make you feel anything other than peace and tranquility, it is a sign that it needs to be let go of.
In this light, there is no need to fight or suppress anything, even fear and hatred itself. In fact, we can begin to let these emotions just be as they are and run themselves out. We no longer need to be afraid of emotions because we are no longer controlled by the temporary ‘pleasure’ of them.
With this practice of continually surrendering the juicy payoff of the negative emotions, a peaceful state naturally emerges. Peace is what prevails when all of our negative programs have been let go of. In this sense, it can be seen that Peace is actually a choice. When we choose Peace instead of the juice of the ego, our emotional dependence on negativity diminishes. When done continually, this Peace stabilizes and becomes our natural state, undisturbed by the passing temptations of negativity
Human consciousness is a subject of infinite fascination in these time because people are realizing just how much our frame of mind is manipulated by mainstream media, corporate and government propaganda. Simultaneously, technology is permitting the free and international exchange of information and now people have access to many spiritual teachings, ideas on conscious transformation, and info about altered states of consciousness.
More people than ever are recognizing how developing greater conscious awareness of their lives is giving humanity the opportunity to evolve beyond the destructive paradigms that dominate life today, giving us all the best chance we have to re-discover a sustainable and humane mode of existence on this planet.
A practical, and legal, means of experimenting with consciousness involves using the scientific understanding of how the brain synchronizes its energetic output to various frequencies, and using technology to induce and maintain unique levels of consciousness. Neuroscience has discovered that human consciousness can be ‘hacked’ by governing the brain’s operating frequency, and recently, scientists have also even been able to trigger lucid dreaming, the state of being consciously aware during deep sleep.
The Electric Brain
The human brain is an electrical organ composed of billions of neurons which emit electricity in order to communicate with one another. The sum of this electrical potential is emitted in patterns which cycle at varying rates, commonly referred to as brain waves. This cyclical energy, which can be picked up and measured by electroencephalography (EEG), is measured in hertz (cycles per second) and has been found to be correlated to the various states of conscious awareness a human can experience. The slower cycles of electrical output being involved with deep sleep or coma, and the faster states being associated with active awareness and bursts of creative insight, inspiration and deep emotion.
The brain’s electricity is constantly fluctuating between various cycles, yet we have identified several major brain wave states which, when predominant, are predictably responsible for certain types of mental functioning. There are other states within this range, but here is a brief explanation of the most important brain wave patterns:
Gamma (25 Hz to 100 Hz, usually around 40 Hz) - Gamma brain waves were only recently discovered byEEG technology and is still not entirely understood, although, it is associated with higher mental functioning and attributed with feelings of ‘blessings’ and peak concentration. This state is also associated with information processing, language and the highest levels of mental functioning.
Beta (14 Hz to 20-25Hz) - Beta brain waves are associated with our general active mental awareness when we are wide awake and actively engaged in the world. In this state, the physical senses are alert and actively taking in information.
Alpha (7 Hz to 14 Hz) - The Alpha brain waves are most commonly associated with meditative mental states, and is often triggered when our eyes close and our physical sensory input is limited. This state is associated with intuitive thinking, insight, creativity, day dreaming and deep relaxation.
Theta (4 Hz to 7 Hz) - These brain waves are present during light sleep and also during deep meditation, where one can experience a deep connection to source, profound insights and visualizations.
Delta (0.5 Hz to 4 Hz) - This brain frequency range is where the body is in its deepest sleep, healing itself and rejuvenating itself. It is here that a person is completely unconscious and a coma happens.
Most of us do not consciously choose which frequency range our brain is functioning within, and our brain activity is more or less governed by our lifestyle, schedules and habits. When we awaken from deep sleep (delta), our brain’s activity begins to slowly increase and the cycles of electrical impulses increase in frequency until eventually we arise in an alpha state. From here we begin our morning routine, which often involves stimulating the brain with exercise, a shower, or caffeine to reach the beta state where we are actively alert and ready to conduct our conscious affairs.
By stimulating the brain appropriately, we can train the brain’s electrical impulses to cycle within certain frequency ranges, effectively triggering some of the brain wave states noted above. We effectively experience this when we watch television, which triggers an alpha wave response, lulling us into deep states of suggestibility and lowered awareness. Advertisers rely on this fact of neuroscience to implant ideas and trigger base responses, like sexual desire over consumer products. Likewise, it has been found that moviegoers in the same theatre passively slip into a synchronized state of brain wave functioning and an entire audience’s brain waves can actually harmonize.
The easiest and sometimes most effective way of deliberately setting the brain’s wave frequency is by using binaural beats, which are stereo audio recordings listened to in headphones that play unique frequencies in each ear. The brain calculates the difference between the two incoming sound waves and harmonizes to this frequency range. In this way, by listening to specially made recordings, the brain can be ‘tricked’ into a theta, alpha, beta or even gamma brain wave state, depending on the desired result. With this tool, people can actively dive into various states of mind while holding onto conscious awareness.
In a recent interview with Waking Times, neurosurgeon and author Dr. Eben Alexander, who gained worldwide recognition for his book Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey Into the Afterlife, which chronicled his near-death experience which convinced him of the existence of the afterlife, discussed his most recent research regarding brain wave entrainment. His research has led him to develop a series of acoustic journeys modeled on binaural beats which can bring the listener very close to the state of conscious he experienced during his near-death experience.
The Silva Method is another well-established means of entraining the brain to consciously maintain alpha and theta states of consciousness in order to seek deeper insight into life for purposes of inspiration, healing, problem-solving, and personal growth. Their programs are centered around maintaining conscious awareness in the alpha brain wave state, then using triggers and visualizations within those states to retrieve information and insight.
There are many more available programs for hacking consciousness with brain waves, and by experimenting and practicing with some of them it is easy to uncover deeper powers and serious inspiration.
The human brain acts as a transmitter and receiver of different frequencies, somewhat akin to how a radio can pick up different radio stations by adjusting the dial. Consciousness exists on a sliding scale, and we can experience different levels of consciousness by using meditation, lucid dreaming, astral travel and other mental exercises that are geared toward the development of self-control. Hacking consciousness with an understanding of brain waves brain wave states, then exploring intentional mental exercises within those states can improve life in a number of ways. Developing mastery of the brain, much as an athlete learns to finely control their body, is essential to personal development and transformation, and can unlock vast potential within you.
Consciousness evolution is the process of becoming universal consciousness. In order to do so, all that we need to do is simply open up a channel within us so that universal consciousness can flow through us uninhibited, because our highest self, the highest level of our consciousness is universal consciousness.
This is the process of consciousness evolution and it is a completely natural process, indeed one that each one of us will go through at one point or another. It is guaranteed.
We have two aspects to our being. We have a radiative aspect which is always changing: our thoughts and emotions; and we have an observing awareness which is collapsing towards singularity where we are one and connected with the rest of the universe, all beings, and where we are united with our source of all-possibility: pure consciousness. Awakening consciously to the former is the path of consciousness evolution.
Our thoughts radiate from the event horizon of our being which is the boundary between thought and silent awareness. Yet there is a lens which determines how the pure energy of consciousness expresses itself through us in our thoughts and emotions which directly manifests in our lives and in our bodies.
That lens is belief.
Imagine belief as a lens much like the negatives on a roll of film which creates an image on a screen whenlight shines through. When you change the negative, when you change the belief, the image on the screen changes. Your body and your life is a three-dimensional hologram defined by your beliefs, and our society is the collective holographic image we have co-created with one another and with the Earth hologram we call nature, within a greater hologram we call our solar system, our galaxy, our universe, and so on to infinity.
And yet the most important thing to remember is not that your belief determines your hologram, but that if your belief system was out of the way altogether then pure consciousness which is energy of the highest vibration – love – would radiate from yours being and express perfection and abundance everywhere in your life. Not if your belief system was changed, but if your belief system was abolished. And that is where thought and meditation comes it.
Thought is a natural part of yourself, so there is no reason for you to feel the need to stop thinking altogether. We just have to learn how to think consciously. However, it is important to periodically strive for (and eventually achieve) inner silence in order to open ourselves up so that our thoughts, emotions, and actions can channel through us unadulterated from a higher level of consciousness within.
All beings are expressions of the universe, God-in-action, but the reason why we have murderers, rapists, imperfection of any kind, and sleeping people of varying degrees is not because some people are inherently good or bad, compassionate or evil. There is no such thing.
The reason we see negativity is because there is so much distortion in the high-vibration energy from the lens of our beliefs and the chaos created by unconscious thinking. The natural high energy of consciousness ends up being distorted and misdirected by so many different limiting beliefs and negative habits, thoughts, and behaviors that it ends up being expressed in harmful ways. Either harmful in an expressive way towards another human being (or yourself), or it is repressed and internalized and it manifests itself as disease in the body.
Therefore peace in the world and health in the body both stem from inner peace and inner silence: clearing out the clutter within ourselves.
I know in my heart that everyone can change if they want to. It is just a matter of cleaning out the programming.
Three Steps to Consciousness Evolution
These three steps are the most essential steps in order to raise your level of consciousness, cultivate personal mastery, and thus engage in the process of consciousness evolution
1. Live on the Event Horizon between Thought and Silence
“Be mindful of your self-talk; it’s a conversation with the universe.” - Unknown
In order to live consciously and to think consciously, we must live on the border between thought and silence. Only then are we in the best possible position to be truly self-aware and to manifest because this is the only position where we can follow Deepak Chopra’s succinct process of manifestation: “Slip into the gap, have the desire, detach from the outcome, and let the universe take care of the details.”
Only from this place can we manifest, and only from this place can we be truly vigilant over our perceptual state. When we live in this space we can easily see not only the perceptual pattern we are living from, and change it if we desire, but we can also feel clearly how spirit is moving us, and what we are being guided to do by the unified field of pure consciousness.
Silence is the yin aspect of our awareness, and thought is the yang. When we live right on the border, but deeply centered in silence with a greater tendency to submerge ourselves in infinite divine consciousness than to radiate too far and become lost in the world of things, then we will learn how to live with true power and potency because from this perceptual position our thoughts emanate directly from the highest aspect of ourselves without being distorted by our thoughts and beliefs.
Our actions from this place are aligned with our highest potential, our thoughts are pure and our emotions are of a high frequency. When we live on the event horizon between thought and silence, then we flow from our highest self and there is an immediate feedback of creation between the two infinities of the universe.
2. Let Go and Surrender to the Universe
Letting go and surrendering is not laziness and apathy. It is the process of learning how to live from a place more aligned with the highest aspects of ourselves.
Everything we have ever done, and every experience we have had is leading to our consciousness evolution. It has meaning. If we shift our perspective from being a victim of our experiences to being the recipient of a cosmic education and co-creator of our destiny, which ultimately is consciousness evolution, then we can start to tap into who we really are.
Letting go and surrendering is not laziness, and it is not giving up. It is simply centering yourself in the awareness that your dreams and all of your purest desires will unfold naturally as an expression of who you are, if you discipline yourself to get out of your own way. It is a shift to the awareness that you already are complete, and that all you need to do every day is exactly what you are inspired to do, what you’d love to do, and what makes you happy in this moment. That is the difference.
Wayne Dyer explained the shift to letting go and surrendering to the universe best when he said: “Listen to your intuitive inner voice and find what passion stirs your soul. When you do this, you’re also tapping into another face of intention: love. If you’re doing what you love and loving what you do—whatever it is—you make a living at it!”
Letting go and surrendering is a process of getting your ego out of the way so that your higher consciousness can work through you.
3. Live Without Desires, but by Divine Inspiration
Instead of living from low-level desires such as earning lots of money, achieving fame, recognition, or even respect, try living more aligned to universal principles (and thus universally aligned desires) by cultivating a deep desire to serve the consciousness evolution of humanity, to live your highest potential, and to create as fearlessly and as ego-lessly as you can. This is what I mean by living by divine inspiration.
When we can live consistently in this fashion, every one of our needs and desires will be taken care automatically.
Living by divine inspiration means to focus all of your energy on your love, and the creative self-expression that is your purpose in life, and to let the universe handle the details. We have been trained to care about the outcome of our efforts through school and society in general. We have been conditioned to seek success. But humans are far too powerful to waste their time with such low level activities.
When we focus all of our energy delving into the depths of ourselves, tapping into the universe through our inner connecting link, and then expressing the truth, love, power, inspiration and creativity that we find, then the universe will take care of the rest. The more we try and force the world to do our bidding, the poorer the results and the more frustrated we become.
If we instead focus all of our energy on living from inspiration and the boundary between thought and silence, and the deeper we submerge ourselves in that inner silence which is the cosmic ocean of pure energy/information, the brighter and more radiant and powerful we become. When we live from this space we have true power, and the universe responds.
The more that we align with our universal source, the more we become our universal source. This is the process of consciousness evolution.
The result of living a life aligned with these three principles and practices is that we enter into a world of magic; a brand new world and perception of reality that we achieve by disconnecting ourselves from the matrix which exists only in our thoughts. The perceptual matrix of our society is at a low level of consciousness, and the only way we can get out of it is by thinking from a brand new place within us and living from a new awareness.
In order to live from a higher level of consciousness we must stop taking orders from lower levels of consciousness, our minds. This is not an event but a process. And while there will most definitely be spontaneous shifts, or quantum moments, know that all your previous actions and work accumulate to make these quantum shifts occur.
The universe is speaking to each one of us individually and is seeking to express itself through each one of us because we are the universe … except we are resisting this aspect of ourselves and pretending to be small, limited, insignificant, and powerless. The universe is consciousness and we are consciousness, thus we must be like what we came from. There is no division. When we can continually center ourselves in silence, and learn to let go and allow ourselves to be guided by that silence, a miraculous shift will occur in our lives…
We will cease to desire from the ego. Recognition will become unimportant. Success will not be the greatest pull on our attention. Instead we will discover a magical connection within us where there is a flow of information, creativity, and knowledge, and by tapping into this flow, we will create and discover beyond our wildest dreams.
Tapping into this flow consciously will release the dam created by our minds so that the universal force, the Tao, or God, can flow through us like a mighty river, and this new energy will be of such a vibration as to radically transform our perception of reality. And we will live “in a great and wonderful world,” where “dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you will discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be,” as the great Sage Patanjali expressed so beautifully.
This is the potential within each one of us. The limitations of any individuals are in direct relationship to the degree to which they live from their mind. For as soon as we discover silence, all barriers disappear, and the universe speaks through each and every one of us equally.
We are all well aware of the five physical senses. We learn early in life through our own experience and it is reinforced through education that our senses are touch, sight, smell, taste, and hearing. Many of us have even experienced a sense beyond these five physical senses. People often refer to it as “having a feeling” about a person, place, or situation. It can be referred to as intuition or a “gut feeling”. We can even contemplate that there is another sense beyond our intuition.
We know that our physical senses can be wonderful tools to help us relate to our environment and everything in it. We can detect with our senses and interpret that information to come to conclusions. Most of us can remember a time when one of our senses recreated a memory. Perhaps it was the color of a flower that took us back, a smell of cookies baking in the oven, the soft touch of fabric, the sound of a beat in the music, or the taste of a combination of spices or herbs. An amazing thing happens when that trigger is recognized by our subconscious. It quickly brings our conscious to a “time and place” we have experienced before. It can be quite powerful.
There are plenty accounts of people that are either born without one of their senses or lose it during their lifetime that allows other senses to “fill in” for that lost sense. Blind people may rely more on their hearing or sense of touch to help them picture the world around them. A deaf person may rely on their sight for something as simple as lip reading. A person that has lost their sense of hearing may learn to use a sense of vibration to interpret their environment.
Our world is entirely made up of vibrations. Everything has its own vibration. When we understand this, then we can begin to understand the intuition sense and how we can become more aware of it. Think about a time that you met someone for the first time and you got a feeling about them. Perhaps you felt this person was good or maybe even a bad person. This feeling was not based off of how they looked, smelled, sounded, felt to the physical touch, or tasted (that would be peculiar upon first meeting). This feeling was your intuition sensing something beyond your five physical senses. You picked up on their energy… their vibration.
We all have the ability to tap into our intuition. Some would argue that point, but the possibility is there. Some people are encouraged from a young age to listen to their intuition. Some are told it is silly and their intuition is disregarded quickly. If you are reading this, then perhaps you are well aware of your intuition. Perhaps you are just interested in the concept. What can we do to increase our connection to our intuition?
There is not a step process, in my opinion. Let us look at this from the idea of honing your physical senses. When we utilize certain physical senses and pay close attention to these senses, we are able to fine tune our senses and utilize them in our daily lives. Think of a chef who has the ability to tell you every herb and spice in a dish he tastes for the first time. He has through years of experience been able to train his palate to identify these different things. A chef will nibble on an herb, dab a spice on his tongue, taste a small piece of cheese, and so on. The chef is then able to recognize these tastes separately and begin to identify wonderful combinations to create an experience for his diners. The same could be said for a musician. They are always listening and identifying sound waves. A musician is often able to hear the different sounds separately, but also create a combination of sounds or a series of sounds that is pleasing to the listener.
One thing to keep in mind is a chef that smokes may not have the best of taste due to damage to his taste buds. A musician that damages his hearing may not be able to pick up all the frequencies anymore. Cleansing yourself of damaging behaviors and thoughts is vital to begin utilizing your senses to their greatest ability.
If we have the ability to utilize our senses in such great detail to create such amazing “masterpieces”, then what happens when we consciously utilize all our senses on a regular basis?
Try sitting in nature and utilizing all your senses to connect with your environment. For some, this comes naturally and for others, this can be very difficult due to not utilizing all our senses at one time on a regular basis. As you sit there in this space, begin to identify what you see, smell, taste, hear, and feel based upon touch. Pick out as many details as you can. If you are sitting on a rock, is it cold or warm? How does sitting on this surface affect your body? Do you feel pressure on your tailbone? How your legs are positioned and how does that feel? What do you see? From the minute to the big picture – vary your focus from micro to macro. What do you smell? Can you separate the combination to smell specific flowers, the dirt, people, or even animals? What do you hear? People talking in the distance and how do they sound? Can you hear the birds chirping or the bee buzzing by? Do you taste the fresh air as you breathe it in?
The more you practice being aware of your five physical senses, then the more natural this becomes. Once we are proficient at utilizing these senses, then we are able to notice when we are sensing something else. We don’t have to question ourselves when our intuition makes us feel a certain way. We can identify that feeling and begin interpreting that feeling. A good practice could be to write down certain feelings you get about situations, people, places, or things. Make note of what you physical senses picked up on and write as many details about how your intuition made you feel. The more we do this, we are able to go back and review and see if our intuition was trying to tell us something. The process of fine tuning our intuition naturally takes form the more we utilize it and know it is something real versus a coincidence or just a feeling of no importance.
Once we become comfortable with the feeling of our intuition, then we can begin to interpret those feelings. What were we feeling? Why? What is our intuition telling us? This is why keeping record can be so important. You don’t second guess yourself as it is right there for you to review. You can begin to interpret the energies around you. You can even pick up on when someone/thing else is attempting to manipulate you.
When you are with a group of people, and one person gets an idea to do something and begins getting really excited about that idea, then it can spread to others. Say, someone has an idea to do something negative. Most of the people in the group may shun the idea at first. Then as the person with the idea gets more and more excited about it and keeps projecting their energy, you may begin to see others begin to “change their mind”. It is the same concept as peer pressure. The more aware you are of this, then the easier it will be to identify that energy and act accordingly. The same can be said for the herd mentality. When an idea is projected enough with enough energy, people will go along with it. The more people that join the idea and spread it, the more power it has to alter others. The ability to identify this is “priceless”.
Just as you are able to receive and interpret using your intuition, you are able to project on to others. The best example is when you cross paths with a total stranger that feels very unhappy. You may “send them love” and you can sense a lift of their negative emotions. Sometimes, you may even see a bit of a smile appear on their lips. This ability should be utilized responsibly with love being the only driving factor.
Being tuned into our intuition is a wonderful ability. Everyone has the ability, but some may have more work to do before really beginning to feel it and decipher it. We, as a collective and individually, are healing with the help of so much. We are trying to get back to our more natural way of being. Trusting your intuition, being able to interpret your intuition is very valuable in so many areas of our experience. We need it more now than ever with everything going on. The choice is yours to use this amazing sense, and only you can do the work to understand it.
“Consciousness is a word worn smooth by a million tongues. Depending upon the figure of speech chosen it is a state of being, a substance, a process, a place, an epiphenomenon, an emergent aspect of matter, or the only true reality.” -George Miller
What is universal consciousness? Well, before we attempt to define it, we must acknowledge that any description of universal consciousness is merely a description of it, and is not actually it. As it is with defining a banana, we understand that the description is not an actual banana. The description is only a signpost pointing to the banana. Defining universal consciousness, like describing a banana, provides only an interpretation of how we perceive, feel, or know it through our personal experience. Similarly, an attempt to describe the science of banana or of universal consciousness, or the structural elements that give them both form and substance, still would not be banana or universal consciousness. Universal consciousness is the wisdom above and beyond the banana, the banana itself, and everything that is experienced in relation to the banana. Universal consciousness is also everything else that exists, has ever existed, and may ever exist.
Universal consciousness is the mechanism for everything and is—everything.
The essence of universal consciousness has been described as spirit, light, love, nature, torsion, and ether. It has also been described as us. In other words, we are universal consciousness. We don’t experience universal consciousness, rather, universal consciousness is, and it experiences itself through us.
Our individual perception of that which is universal consciousness can be a prism or a prison, depending upon our flexibility or resistance to flow.
So, what is universal consciousness, really? Perhaps it isn’t what we think it is. In fact, it may even exist apart from our thinking. Merriam-Webster defines consciousness as “the quality or state of being aware, especially of something within oneself. The state or fact of being conscious of an external object, state, or fact.” Therefore, that which is conscious has perspective when observing what it perceives.
However, the consciousness I am referring to, universal consciousness, is impersonal in nature and spans far beyond individual awareness, space-time, and beyond anything we may think we know definitively. I am referring to universal consciousness as the all. In its entirety, it is void of perspective and identity because it includes all vantage points as part of itself. Anything we say consciousness is will merely be a description or a signpost for what it actually is. Defining an individual’s perspective of consciousness does not define consciousness, either. It only describes a perspective of consciousness. In this article I am utilizing particular language and definitions for consciousness in an attempt to invite everyone to the same page. Nonetheless, this does not mean that everyone must have the same perspective about something with an inherent nature that is undifferentiated and limitless. Any and all definitions serve as a single point of reference called perspective, even if that perspective proclaims that there are infinite points of pointlessness to what is being defined.
It is not important that we are all on the same page with respect to consciousness, or to any perspective offered here. Truth is ultimately a deeply personal experience, and this article is not about consensual truth. This article is about understanding your own truth for yourself regarding the nature of your own reality as a limitless being.
If something within these writings provokes a charge or sparks your interest, then by all means, pay attention! That is a clue or signpost to your awareness, telling you that you may have accessed resistance, rigidity, potentiality, possibility, opportunity, or awesomeness.
We want to continuously challenge our notions about reality, particularly those that are limiting in nature, so that we can consciously and interactively re-create the experience of ourselves as limitless beings.
As defined in “M-Joy Practically Speaking: Living Your Infinite Potential and Matrix Energetics”, universal consciousness includes everything and excludes nothing. It is my experience that everything comes from universal consciousness.
Whether we are esoteric, scientific, united, or divided about what universal consciousness actually is, our approach to defining it appears to make little difference to universal consciousness itself. That which is everything and is impersonal in nature does not seem to care what we call it or how we describe it. Consciousness itself does not come across as judgmental or discriminatory about beliefs, perspectives, opinions, or concepts—even if we sometimes are. As discussed in this article, universal consciousness includes everything. Everything is universal consciousness experiencing itself. Therefore, universal consciousness is. . . . We are . . . I am . . . and you are All That Is. Om Tat Sat.
“Healing is to be in the light of our own consciousness. Healing is an inner light, which exists as a natural radiance around a person. This inner light is in itself a healing force beyond words. This inner light disperses darkness, like when you light a candle in a dark room and the darkness disappears by itself. This inner light exudes a subtle influence through its mere presence. The more the light in our own consciousness is lit, the more it creates a subtle effect in the world.” -Swami Dhyan Giten, Presence—Working from Within
Many references throughout many spiritual traditions draw parallels between consciousness and light. Even our bodies appear to be composed of light. Physicists have noted that our bodies are made of biophotons, and biophotons are light. It has been scientifically proven that every cell in the body emits more than 100,000 light impulses, or photons, per second. These light emissions, found in all living things, are called biophotons and have been found to be the driving mechanism behind all biochemical reactions.1
The Russian embryologist Alexander Gurwitsch did initial research establishing the role of light in living processes. In 1923, Gurwitsch established a strong hypothesis that every living cell emits light. In the 1970s, the work of German scientist Fritz Popp expanded further upon biophoton theory, providing ample experimental evidence. Fritz Popp discovered that DNA both emits and absorbs biophotons and that the health of living creatures could be determined by the subtle energy of the biophotons they emit.
Light, Information, and Torsion in the Synchronized Universe
According to MIT- and Princeton-educated physicist Dr. Claude Swanson in his Synchronized Universe model:
“…the new sciences of biophotons and torsion fields provide a bridge between two views of life: the old twentieth century view of an organism as a chemical machine and the emerging view of life as communication and energetic flows.”2
Dr. Swanson goes on to state:
“Bio-photons (light) create the three-dimensional hologram, which controls growth and healing. It creates and interacts with torsion fields which extend beyond the body, and create the aura. . . . The ability of intention and visualization to alter DNA transcription, changing cell biology, is one of the modern breakthroughs which help us understand the close connection between consciousness and biophotons.”3
Dr. Swanson further maintains that:
“…with the creation of each biophoton, there is also a torsion wave. Torsion is a widespread and important form of radiation, which couples particle spins together, and propagates through space as a twisting wave in the metric. It results in a variety of new phenomena. These effects have been studied extensively for the past forty years, at multiple research centers in Russia. Their most important conclusion is that this torsion force is exactly the same as subtle energy.”4
Simply stated, the body is made of light, also known as biophotons. Biophotons create a hologram informing the body to grow and heal. This hologram of light creates torsion fields (spin) and also transmits and receives information from resonant torsion fields (spin) around the body.
Furthermore, extensive Russian research has shown that torsion fields, presumed to be everywhere in the fabric of the universe, are able to transmit and receive information. What is more, the communication between torsion fields is not limited by time and space.
“In other words, torsion fields can transmit and receive information, including thoughts, instantly from anywhere to anywhere. Biophotons are considered the “intermediating link between local/linear and non-local/non-linear field effects.”5
Light as a Source of Life
Light as a source of life may be that which is the essence of universal consciousness. Remarkably, according to Terence McKenna, photons of light apparently have no antiparticles.6
Does this imply that there is no dualism in the world of light? If there is no opposite to light, which is our essence, then darkness may not be darkness at all, but merely light distanced from itself. If we are made of light, and light has no opposite, then our fundamental essence of light might be all there is. Thus, our perceived experience of duality may not be a split or polarization of light and dark at all, but instead a degree of how far our awareness can distance itself from the light that we are.
If universal consciousness were to have a desire or a purpose, then perhaps it would be to create. Universal consciousness appears to create as a way of becoming more aware of itself. In the same way that we each have personal perspective, universal consciousness appears to create to experience itself through various perspectives, expressions, reflections, and distinctions. It occurs to me that consciousness sees itself in all its creations and is not separate from them.
If this is true, then all distinctions extend from, and are still connected to, universal consciousness, which includes all of us. The individual expressions that universal consciousness makes through us become oursole (soul) signature. It is what makes us unique. Individual (in-divide-u-all) and individuality (in-divine-duality) refer to our unique experience of ourselves, not as separate and apart from universal consciousness but as direct extensions of it.
What Is Consciousness Potential?
As referenced in this article, universal consciousness creates from unlimited potential. Consciousness potential is no-thing. It can be described as nothingbecause it has not yet expressed itself as something. Consciousness potential is universal consciousness before consciousness creates, actualizes, and/or experiences. Consciousness potential is void of distinctions or boundaries, and therefore, it also has no limitations. Undifferentiated consciousness potential is limitless, formless, weightless, timeless, spaceless, thoughtless, and totally free.
Referring to the all as no-thing, as consciousness potential, actually facilitates access to it. All we need to do is become aware of consciousness potential. But how do we become aware of something that has nothing to be aware of? We begin by letting go of our sense of being separate. Awareness from an expanded perspective, that is inclusive of everything as consciousness, andno-thing as consciousness potential, allows for that potential to express itself more readily through us.
Consciousness potential is also that which is unconditional love. Unconditional love is the cohesive force that unifies all, a thread that weaves through the fabric of the universe. It is not “I love you.” It is Love IS. Unconditional love is not love as we humans have become accustomed to it, with all its parameters, expectations, and limitations. Consciousness potential as unconditional love is impersonal in nature. It is love void of all conditions.
Consciousness potential is love is as a preconditioned essence; it is love that exists regardless of human relations, emotions, perceptions, or forms.
As a concept, love is often misunderstood, and therein lies the potential difficulty in accepting that unconditional love is everything and no-thing. Our limited concepts of love have been personified and deeply distorted into conditioned states. The love that creates all, heals all, and transforms all is actually deeply impersonal and without conditions.
Certainly some expressions of love are carrier waves for transformation and healing, but those expressions are not what truly heal. Those expressions reconnect us to the stateless potential of condition-less love. They reflect back to us our natural essence as consciousness potential. It is not that human love heals, per se, but that love itself reflects back to us the wholeness that is inherently within each and every one of us.
Expressions of unconditional love, no longer unconditioned by virtue of being conditioned into an expression, are powerful, coherent placeholders for our potential return to wholeness and connection with source as universal consciousness. Compassion, empathy, laughter, and friendship, expressed as supportive gestures, a kind word, or a gentle caress are just a few of many mirrored reflections that serve to nurture our consciousness potential back into flow, as well-being. Unconditional love as consciousness potential is what we are in our true essence. Therefore, an expression of love from another or from oneself is like receiving a homeopathic remedy for awareness. We remember, we resonate with, we receive, we allow, and we return to our natural state of wholeness, which is then inherently reflected as wellness.
Wellness, or well-being, is a natural flow that is expressed through a body of information (in-form-in-action) that serves as a vehicle for universal consciousness. Thus, wellness is a conditioned expression of consciousness, of love, flowing through form from its original condition-less state. Ultimately, well-being is consciousness potential expressing itself as love and light through us.
Although we may be experiencing conditions that seem far removed from our true essence of love expressed as light, we are much more than our conditions. We are much more than our problems. We are much more than anything we are choosing or not choosing to experience in any moment or over time. We are universal consciousness and unlimited potential. Though we may have moved our awareness away from noticing this as part of our experiences, we always have the inherent ability to return to this knowingness. With this recognition, we can recondition our experiences and limitlessly create new experiences. We can tap into our consciousness potential and open up to knowing and recognizing ourselves as more than what we have previously experienced.
V. Susan Ferguson
The idea that we are alone in the universe is totally absurd when we consider that there are now 176 billion observable galaxies. There are trillions of stars, each of which in all probability may have at lease one inhabitable planet awaiting life forms. There is no reason to assume that the numerous extra terrestrial races have no part in the seeding and colonization of planets. Indeed the idea that earth was seeded by various off-planet beings is not in conflict with the metaphysical traditions of consciousness and enlightenment found in the Sanskrit texts. Surely it is simply logical that throughout the galaxies the more highly advanced races, either in technology or wisdom metaphysics, do seed and colonize planets that have potential for life.
Consciousness is the Key to our Liberation
All beings in this manifest universe have time as our construct, the warp and weave of time and space. We are limited by time, even though our allotted lives may vary in terms of years, eventually even the more advanced overseers who colonize the galaxies will die. The secret in the ancient Sanskrit text the Rig Veda was misunderstood, misconceived, and turned into elaborate rituals, which promised to give mortals the same numbers of years of life as their ‘gods’ — the colonizing families. The real secret, the amrita, the nectar of immortality was in consciousness, Becoming that which is never born and never dies, the eternal immutable imperishable One, the effulgence that permeates and supports All. This understanding of immortality is found in the Chandogya Upanishad, Chapter III where the true meaning of amrita, the honey nectar of immortality is revealed:
The yonder Sun [within] verily is the gods [the sense apparatus] honey. Of it, heaven is the cross beam, the middle world the honeycomb, and rays the eggs.
Of that Sun, the eastern rays are its eastern honey cells, The Rik verses are the honeybees, and the Rig Veda the flowers. The watery [apas] honey [madhu] in them is the immortal [amrita] ambrosia.
Wisdom liberates us from our perceived state of mortality. One might consider our human history of an endless mad search for immortality through science, wealth and power in the external appearances of temporal solidity time/space as mildly amusing. Everything and everyone in this world is temporal, subject to death and birth, the ocean of Samsara. Yet the secret has always been waiting within each of us, in the Heart – not the physical heart, but the metaphysical Heart.
“If a man worships another, he does not know…”
In 2013, Gerald Clark published his research in The Anunnaki of Nibiru and by chance, I recently came across the book on amazon.com. I do not know if Clark read my book. He does not cite me, nor do I care. In fact I am hoping that he came to his ideas regarding the importance of consciousness in the Anunnaki story all on his own.
While I cannot confirm Clark’s conclusions about historical details, connections to other world myths and religions, or his various personal assumptions — what did interest and impress me was his understanding regarding the suppression of the human consciousness. My research has focused on traditional ancient metaphysics and the vast implications of the loss of this Wisdom-Knowledge. Truly our enslavement, or bondage as it is commonly termed in the Sanskrit texts, is the result of our ignorance of primordial metaphysics, Wisdom-Knowledge, jñana yoga.
Those who have reached God-Consciousness, meaning their own Enlightenment, understand and experientially Know that the Oneness, simultaneously our Source and what we are, pervades and permeates All. God is everything and everyone, each of us. Therefore no one should or would bow down and worship another. This is clearly stated in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, I.iv.10:
And to this day, [those] who…know the Self as I am Brahman [the One], become all this universe.
Even the gods [any other dimensional beings] cannot prevent his becoming this, for he has become their Self. …if a man worships another deity thinking: He is one and I am another, he does not know.
He [who does not know] is like a sacrificial animal to the gods. As many animals serve a man, so does each man serve the gods. Even if one animal is taken away, it causes anguish to the owner; how much more so when many are taken away!
Therefore it is not pleasing to the gods that men should know this [that they are the One].
Gerald Clark has understood the profound implications of consciousness in connection with our colonizers, the Anunnaki, when he says, “Recall that consciousness had the stinging side effect of empowering the enslaved [the Igigi] to rise up casting off their oppressors…” Clark elaborates on the seven chakras and suggests that the intentional suppression of human consciousness in the race created by the Anunnaki was part of the fraternal conflict between Enki and his brother Enlil. I assume that the reader has some knowledge of the Anunnaki story.
Enki was of course the master geneticist who with his half-sister Ninhursag created us. The cuneiform tablets say that Enlil found the increase of humans ‘noisy’ and sought to periodically reduce the population. Enki naturally felt more sympathetic towards us as his creations and intervened on our behalf on more than one occasion, including one of the catastrophic Great Flood events. Enlil saw no reason to activate consciousness and the chakra system in beings needed as obedient slaves.
Visions of the colonization of planet Earth
For many years I have sought to reconcile my visions of the colonization of planet Earth by the Anunnaki and my deepening understanding of the eternal metaphysical Wisdom-Knowledge in the Sanskrit texts.
In 1995 I wrote ‘Inanna Returns’ based on six months of visions that were triggered by reading Zecharia Sitchin. In 1989 I read the Sitchin books. Many of my friends were also reading Sitchin and most were complaining, struggling with the names, and Sitchin’s style of laying out endless often seemingly unrelated facts. But for me it was as if I was reading the story of my own family. I felt as if I personally knew the family of Anu – Ninhursag, Enki, Enlil, and the others. I began explaining their family relationships to my friends, who were a bit bewildered by my deep grok. I am not a scholar.
Then the visions began. As I continued to read Sitchin, I felt as if I were in Inanna’s body watching the entire colonization, hybridization, radiation wars, etc. process. The visions were quite intense, incredibly amazing, but I was completely comfortable with the experience and never felt unbalanced or frightened. However over time, I shut the visions down, which wasn’t so difficult and went on with my smaller life.
All of this resulted in my writing ‘Inanna Returns’ in 1995. I self-published, went on the lecture circuit, and when the books stopped selling eventually closed up shop. I understood that the colonizing beings were far more advanced and powerful than we humans. Therefore the best, and indeed most practical recourse for me was to seek my Enlightenment, in other words alter my own limited human consciousness. Over the years, I stopped reading the many Sitchin spin-offs as I found them too confused and confusing. Instead I chose to concentrate on metaphysics and the Sanskrit because of what Inanna had revealed to me about the Indus Valley civilization. I was especially drawn to the Mahabharata and naturally the Bhagavad Gita contained within.
In my book Inanna Returns she tells her story. Inanna was given the already existing province of the Indus Valley as a way to appease her. She wanted Egypt, but was given the Indus Valley as compensation — with the added value of getting her out of and away from Mesopotamia. Exiled to the hinterlands, Inanna devised a plan of her own, as usual, to even things up. In Chapter VIII…
‘Inanna Returns’ Chapter VIII, The Temples of Love:
Watching Ninhursag’s lonely life, coupled with my own experiences, was beginning to give me a feeling for women. As time passed on Terra, the men in my family were becoming more and more dominating. It was as if the very atmosphere of this remote planet was somehow changing us all.
In the Pleiades, women are revered as symbols of the Great Goddess and treated with respect. It is strongly forbidden by Pleiadian law to strike or rape a woman. Earth’s frontier frequencies seemed to bring about a shift in this tradition. Our men were developing a new attitude to the female half of the species. The sons of Enki, led by Marduk, created laws forbidding women certain freedoms in their territories. I was naturally angry and upset by these ridiculous laws, so in my lands, I emphasized the empowerment and enhancement of female energy, and I decided to teach the Lulus some of the Pleiadian Mysteries.
When Ninhursag and Enki created the Lulus, they left a few key components inactivated. Although the Lulus and all the humans born of them, including the present-day inhabitants of Terra, possess our genes, some of these genes don’t work because some had been purposefully unplugged. The Lulus were taught to call my family “divine,” but we were hardly that. The children of Anu are the eternal adolescents, and words like ambitious and greedy might describe us more accurately.
We had intentionally left the genetic codes of our worker race only partially functional so they would be easier to manage. I knew I could not interfere with the workings of the Lulus’ DNA, but no one could stop me from teaching them certain secrets. And since thought creates reality, I hoped a few of my priestesses or priests might fire up the “divine genes” present in all the Lulus and thus instigate their latent evolution through hormonal secretion.
In your present time, the Samkhya is all that remains of Pleiadian wisdom. Samkhya is a Sanskrit word meaning “to enumerate.” The concept of Samkhya suggests that matter is organized out of two primary components, consciousness and energy, which interact to create the universe.
It is conscious focused thought that moves the frequencies of energy to form themselves into the myriad, infinite Play of all the Worlds! Physicists in your present time are approaching this understanding, but they are missing one component, and that is Love. Not the kind of love you have experienced as humans, something limited and unpredictable, but Love as a primary force. It would never occur to a modern-day scientist to quantify a state of consciousness such as Love, but that is the secret. Love is the missing piece in all of the unified field theories.
It is the Love from Prime Creator that is the first cause of this Universe and all other dimensional realities in existence. Do not your great ones say that Love is the greatest of all qualities? Yet, it is too simple, too obvious for most.
So, I taught this Samkhya in my temples. I taught my girls and some of the men who wanted to learn how to use their beautiful minds and bodies to bring this force, the force of divine Love, onto Terra, into our cities, our fields, and our children.
It was a wonderful time for us all. Business thrived, and the women were allowed to own property and to keep their wealth separate if they so chose. Thus, no one owned them. Both sexes were sovereign unto themselves, and the men were equally happy. There was a flowering of civilization and the arts. Our fields were abundant, trade with Sumer and Egypt was booming, and the arts of dance, song, painting, and sculpting soared to new heights. Reports of Maya’s architectural achievements spread around the world.
The intentional suppression of human consciousness…
The knowledge that the war between those who took part in seeding and colonizing this planet, Enki and Enlil, has been about the activation of human consciousness reveals to us the way to freedom. The mystery of thousands of years of suppression from tyrannical religions demanding that we humans bow down and worship gods, or even one who is vengeful blood-thirsty war-loving, is solved. Religious wars that have repeatedly destroyed great civilizations, and the freedom of enquiry that often got close to Truth, must come to an end.
We free our consciousness from bondage and delusion, when we seek the ubiquitous One that pervades All and dwells within the Heart of every man, woman, and child. The eternal One waits patiently for each of us to again turn inside and recover our own divinity and Source. Who then can force us to worship any thing outside of us? The One permeates and pervades All. It manifests this woven universe with Love, created by the effulgence of It’s own Delight! We are That. TAT TVAM ASI. Perhaps that time has come, time to return Home — but the outcome remains in our hands, or should I say in our Hearts.
Thus we may begin to understand that all this Anunnaki business, the truth of our ancient origins, the prophets and profits of doom, the threat matrix of Fear Incorporated, all melt down to consciousness, our human consciousness.
“Consciousness shines in various external and internal forms.
There is no existence of objects apart from consciousness.
Therefore the world is simply a form of consciousness.”
- Kalikakrama, as quoted in the Shiva Sutras translated by Jaideva Singh
The future remains up to us, each individual to choose Liberation or bow-down & worship tyranny. No one can do this for you. I’m not saying Truth is easy, although for some it may be. We do walk the proverbial Razor’s Edge, the abyss on every side. But Home is the Oneness we all emerge from, the eternal, unmanifest immutable imperishable — and inevitably all of us will return to and dissolve back into That. There is only one Soul forever dancing in crazy Love, Its mad blissful Joy across thousands of universes.

The war on consciousness and the agenda against esoteric knowledge is not a side issue. Ultimately we are all consciousness, and so whilst a myriad of issues play back and forth in the world, what affects our ability to recognize who we are and awaken the potential of our consciousness is THE issue that lies at the very core of life. Spiritual knowledge is therefore right up there on the hit list of the dark and hidden powers that be.
The most recent evidence of this: the UK government has proposed a billmake internet service providers automatically block websites dubbed “esoteric material”. That means people in the UK could be shut off from websites the UK government deems “esoteric” unless they go in and manually un-tick their network filters (you can find directions on how to do this here).
It has been labelled “pornwall” by some because the bill will block pornographic websites in the name of internet safety for children (great), but this “hot topic” has overshadowed media debate, likely very deliberately. A BBC article debated pornography only, despite there being 9 other categories of blocked material discovered by the Open Rights Group, which includes the aforementioned “esoteric material”. A moral issue has clearly become the Trojan horse to unleash a new stage in the game plan long in the making against spiritual knowledge.
Esoteric Practices and the Websites of “Sects” Already Blocked on Some Phones
So exactly what is esoteric? There are different definitions, but the word is mainly associated with knowledge of a spiritual kind, leaving an open door for people to abuse and target all manner of spirituality. But in case there was any confusion as to exactly what “esoteric material” they might be getting at, the Open Rights Group has already reported that websites of organizations that promote “esoteric practices” whether directly or indirectly have already been blocked in the UK on pay-as-you-go Orange phones. I wonder if “esoteric practices” include types of meditation, practices of astral projection, or making contact with celestial beings etc. – but in the end, what you or I think doesn’t matter as the UK government has decided that it will be the judge of what spiritual knowledge humanity has access to.
The wording also states that the websites of “universally acknowledged sects” (small religious groups) are also blocked. Universally acknowledged by who exactly? Apparently there is already global cooperation to “universally” define what spiritual groups and beliefs will be labelled with the derogatory term “sect” and who they will be shutting the people of the UK off from (soon to be coming to a country near you), whilst they set up their own “universal” pop culture of demonic rituals and icons – just do an internet search for “illuminati music industry” (note: if you have an Orange phone in the UK you’re also blocked from sites that will anonymize your searching). Are we finally witnessing the beginnings of a dark New World Religion?
What is Esoteric Anyway?
Esoteric is defined as:
Confined to and understandable by only an enlightened inner circle.
Designed for or understood by the specially initiated alone.
Requiring or exhibiting knowledge that is restricted to a small group; difficult to understand; limited to a small circle.
Sound like the incredible spiritual knowledge encoded into the sacred texts and sites of the ancient Egyptians, Mayans, and Hindus, or those found in the ancient mystery schools of the Essenes, the Eleusinians, Pythagoreans, or Druids? Or what about the knowledge Jesus passed in secret to his disciples? The definition is so broad it could contain all the wisdom traditions of thousands of years of human history that reveal the power of conscious awakening we each have within, for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
This is what they want to keep out of the minds of children, whilst Hollywood and the music industry increasingly target them with unimaginably dark, demonic and disturbing images and vibrations? Could the agenda be to create entirely new generations fed solely on the demonic filth being poured out of the music/media industry with zero real alternative?
Esoteric Knowledge is Powerful – That’s Why They Don’t Want Us to Have It
Why would they bother to target “esoteric material”? Perhaps that will now give you some indicator as to HOW POWERFUL ESOTERIC KNOWLEDGE REALLY IS. They know it, and that’s why they don’t want you to have it. Whilst it is marginalized and condemned in society, there are very powerful secret societies running much of the show that use it specifically for dark and demonic purposes where it is inverted to invoke evil powers and why you see them using inverted esoteric symbols (such as the inverted crucifix and pentagram so “in vogue” in Hollywood right now). So not only could censoring “esoteric material” block genuinely spiritual information, but even people exposing the use of dark esoteric knowledge for sinister purposes in an extraordinary double take.
We can oppose dark forces with those of light; we can defeat the power born from the knowledge of evil with that which is born from truth and the knowledge of the light. As long as esoteric knowledge continues to be suppressed, those who use it for evil can continue unaffected behind the scenes and that is exactly what they want. For example, someone can use out-of-body experiences to actually see where the dark things in the world are emanating from rather than just their manifestations.
By working with consciousness, truth, light, and celestial forces we can penetrate and expose the dark heart of evil in the world, not doing this is to merely cut the tentacles of an octopus strangling humanity – one whose tentacles continuously regrow. Each tentacle gets its power from the connection feeding the octopus, which goes right down into the source of evil. This connection is the source of their knowledge and power; whilst consciousness and the spiritual is the source of ours.
The War on Consciousness
The opposition to dark forces has been part of the work of many esoteric schools of light (many of whom had to operate in secret for their own protection), which have been established throughout the world and human history, and why they have been targeted by infiltration, smears, and persecution so exhaustively. There is a war going on that most people are completely unaware of; it is A WAR ON CONSCIOUSNESS.
What they really don’t want us to know is the power and potential of consciousness that we each contain, the inner light that has the power to break every psychological chain that binds us, to act with an intelligence informed by truth and higher sources such as intuition, out-of-body experiences, dreams, love, peace and wisdom.
No one in the world can fathom what quantum mechanics is, this is perhaps the most important thing you need to know about it. Granted, many physicists have learned to use its laws and even predict phenomena based on quantum calculations. But it is still unclear why the observer of an experiment determines behavior of the system and causes it to favor one state over another. “Theories and Applications” picked examples of experiments with outcomes which will inevitably be influenced by the observer, and tried to figure out how quantum mechanics is going to deal with the intervention of conscious thought in material reality.
1. Schrödinger’s cat
Today there are many interpretations of quantum mechanics with the Copenhagen interpretation being perhaps the most famous to-date. In the 1920s, its general postulates were formulated by Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg. The wave function has become the core term of the Copenhagen interpretation, it is a mathematical function containing information about all possible states of a quantum system in which it exists simultaneously.
As stated by the Copenhagen interpretation, the state of the system and its position relative to other states can only be determined by an observation (the wave function is used only to help mathematically calculate the probability of the system being in one state or another). We can say that after observation, the quantum system becomes classical and immediately cease to exist in other states, except for the state it has been observed.
This approach has always had its opponents (remember for example Albert Einstein’s “God does not play dice“), but the accuracy of the calculations and predictions prevailed. However, the number of supporters of the Copenhagen interpretation is decreasing and the major reason for that is the mysterious instant collapse of the wave function during the experiments. The famous mental experiment by Erwin Schrödinger with the poor cat was meant to demonstrate the absurdity of this phenomenon.
Let us recap the nature of this experiment. A live cat is placed inside a black box, together with a vial containing poison and a mechanism that can release this poison at random. For instance, a radioactive atom during its decay can break the vial. The precise time of atom’s decay is unknown. Only half-life, or the time during which the decay occurs with a probability of 50%, is known.
Obviously, for the external observer, the cat inside the box exists in two states: it is either alive, if all goes well, or dead, if the decay occurred and the vial was broken. Both of these states are described by the cat’s wave function, which changes over time. The more time has passed, the more likely that radioactive decay has already happened. But as soon as we open the box, the wave function collapses, and we immediately see the outcomes of this inhumane experiment.
In fact, until the observer opens the box, the cat will be subjected to the endless balance on the brink of being between life and death, and its fate can only be determined by the action of the observer. That is the absurdity pointed out by Schrödinger .
2. Diffraction of electrons
According to the poll of the greatest physicists conducted by The New York Times, the experiment with electron diffraction is one of the most astonishing studies in the history of science. What was its nature?
There is a source that emits a stream of electrons onto photosensitive screen. And there is obstruction in the way of these electrons, a copper plate with two slits. What kind of picture can be expected on the screen if the electrons are imagined as small charged balls? Two strips illuminated opposite to the slits.
In fact, the screen displays a much more complex pattern of alternating black and white stripes. This is due to the fact that, when passing through the slit, electrons begin to behave not as particles, but as waves (just like the photons, or light particles, which can be waves at the same time). These waves interact in space, either quenching or amplifying each other, and as a result, a complex pattern of alternating light and dark stripes appears on the screen.
At the same time, the result of this experiment does not change, and if electrons pass through the slit not as one single stream, but one by one, even one particle can be a wave. Even a single electron can pass simultaneously through both slits (and this is also one of the main postulates of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, when particles can simultaneously display both their “usual” physical properties and exotic properties as a wave).
But what about the observer? The observer makes this complicated story even more confusing. When physicists, during similar experiments, tried to determine with the help of instruments which slit the electron actually passes through, the image on the screen had changed dramatically and become a “classic” pattern with two illuminated sections opposite to the slits and no alternating bands displayed.
Electrons seemed not wanting to show their wave nature under the watchful eye of observers. Did they manage to follow their instinctive desire to see a clear and simple picture. Is this some kind of a mystery? There is a more simple explanation: no observation of a system can be carried out without physically impacting it. But we will discuss this a bit later.
3. Heated fullerene
Experiments on the diffraction of particles have been conducted not only for electrons, but for much larger objects. For example, using fullerenes, large and closed molecules consisting of dozens of carbon atoms (for example, fullerene of sixty carbon atoms is very similar in shape to a football, a hollow sphere comprised of pentagons and hexagons).
Recently, a group of scientists from the University of Vienna supervised by Professor Zeilinger tried to introduce an element of observation in these experiments. To do this, they irradiated moving fullerene molecules with a laser beam. Then, warmed by an external source, the molecules began to glow and inevitably displayed their presence in space to the observer.
Together with this innovation, the behavior of molecules has also changed. Prior to the beginning of such comprehensive surveillance, fullerenes quite successfully avoided obstacles (exhibited wave-like properties) similar to the previous example with electrons passing through an opaque screen. But later, with the presence of an observer, fullerenes began to behave as completely law-abiding physical particles.
4. Cooling measurement
One of the famous laws in the world of quantum physics is the Heisenberg uncertainty principle which claims that it is impossible to determine the speed and the position of a quantum object at the same time. The more accurate we are at measuring the momentum of a particle, the less precise we are at measuring its position. But the validity of quantum laws operating on tiny particles usually remains unnoticed in our world of large macroscopic objects.
Recent experiments by Professor Schwab in the U.S. are even more valuable in this respect, where quantum effects have been demonstrated not at the level of electrons or fullerene molecules (their characteristic diameter is about 1 nm), but on a little more tangible object, a tiny aluminum strip.
This strip was fixed on both sides so that its middle was in a suspended state and it could vibrate under external influence. In addition, a device capable of accurately recording strip’s position was placed near it.
As a result, the experimenters came up with two interesting findings. First, any measurement related to the position of the object and observations of the strip did affect it, after each measurement the position of the strip changed. Generally speaking , the experimenters determined the coordinates of the strip with high precision and thus , according to the Heisenberg’s principle, changed its velocity, and hence the subsequent position.
Secondly, which was quite unexpected, some measurements also led to cooling of the strip. So, the observer can change physical characteristics of objects just by being present there.
5. Freezing particles
As it is well known, unstable radioactive particles decay not only for experiments with cats, but also on their own. Each particle has an average lifetime which, as it turns out, can increase under the watchful eye of the observer.
This quantum effect was first predicted back in the 1960s, and its brilliant experimental proof appeared in the article published in 2006 by the group led by Nobel laureate in Physics Wolfgang Ketterle of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In this paper, the decay of unstable excited rubidium atoms was studied (photons can decay to rubidium atoms in their basic state). Immediately after preparation of the system, excitation of atoms was observed by exposing it to a laser beam. The observation was conducted in two modes: continuous (the system was constantly exposed to small light pulses) and pulse-like (the system was irradiated from time to time with more powerful pulses).
The obtained results are perfectly in line with theoretical predictions. External light effects slow down the decay of particles, returning them to their original state, which is far from the state of decay. The magnitude of this effect for the two studied modes also coincides with the predictions. The maximum life of unstable excited rubidium atoms was extended up to 30-fold.
Quantum mechanics and consciousness
Electrons and fullerenes cease to show their wave properties, aluminum plates cool down and unstable particles freeze while going through their decay, under the watchful eye of the observer the world changes. Why cannot this be the evidence of involvement of our minds in the workings of the world? So maybe Carl Jung and Wolfgang Pauli (Austrian physicist and Nobel laureate, the pioneer of quantum mechanics) were correct after all when they said that the laws of physics and consciousness should be seen as complementary?
We are only one step away from admitting that the world around us is just an illusory product of our mind. Scary, isn’t it? Let us then again try to appeal to physicists. Especially when in recent years, they favor less the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, with its mysterious collapse of the wave function, giving place to another quite down to earth and reliable term decoherence.
Here’s the thing, in all these experiments with the observations, the experimenters inevitably impacted the system. They lit it with a laser and installed measuring devices. But this is a common and very important principle:you cannot observe the system or measure its properties without interacting with it. And where there is interaction, there will be modification of properties. Especially when a tiny quantum system is impacted by colossal quantum objects. So the eternal Buddhist observer neutrality is impossible.
This is explained by the term “decoherence”, which is an irreversible, from the point of view of thermodynamics, process of altering the quantum properties of the system when it interacts with another larger system. During this interaction the quantum system loses its original properties and becomes a classic one while “obeying ” the large system. This explains the paradox of Schrödinger’s cat: the cat is such a large system that it simply cannot be isolated from the rest of the world. The mere design of this mental experiment is not quite correct.
In any event, compared to the reality of consciousness as an act of creation, decoherence represents a much more convenient approach. Perhaps even too convenient. Indeed, with this approach, the entire classical world becomes one big consequence of decoherence. And as the authors of one of the most prominent books in this field stated, such an approach would also logically lead to statements like “there are no particles in the world” or ” there is no time on a fundamental level”.
Is it the creator-observer or powerful decoherence? We have to choose between the two evils. But remember, now scientists are increasingly convinced that the basis of our mental processes is created by these notorious quantum effects. So, where the observation ends and reality begins, is up to each of us.
In this article we will explore how your body is a holographic projection of your consciousness, and how you directly influence that hologram and thus have complete control over the physical health of your body. We will also specifically explore the exact mechanism behind this principle, and don’t worry, I will provide scientific evidence so let your rational mind be at ease. But first … how is this even possible?
Human Thought Determines Reality
One of the key principles of quantum physics is that our thoughts determine reality. Early in the 1900′s they proved this beyond a shadow of a doubt with an experiment called the double slit experiment. They found that the determining factor of the behavior of energy (‘particles’) at the quantum level is the awareness of the observer.
For example: electrons under the same conditions would sometimes act like particles, and then at other times they would switch to acting like waves (formless energy), because it was completely dependent on what the observer expected was going to happen. Whatever the observed believed would occur is what the quantum field did.
The quantum world is waiting for us to make a decision so that it knows how to behave. That is why quantum physicists have such difficulties in dealing with, explaining, and defining the quantum world. We are truly, in every sense of the word, masters of creation because we decide what manifests out of the field of all-possibility and into form.
Video: We Think We Are Humans...We are Consciousness
The thing is, the quantum level of reality isn’t a local and insignificant aspect of creation. It is all around us, and it is the most fundamental level of creation aside from the unified field itself. The human energy field is interacting and influencing the quantum field all around us at all times and the energy of our beliefs and intentions are infused into our energy field because they are defined by the energy of our thoughts and emotions.
Thus the fusion of our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and intentions, which I will call the human energy field for simplicity’s sake, is perpetually informing the quantum reality within us and around us at each moment of our existence.
And because reality is flashing in and out of existence (hypothetically at Planck time – 1044 times per second – as explained by The Resonance Project biophysicist William Brown), every time our reality oscillates between form, and the pure energy state of the field, our awareness which is constant and doesn’t flash in and out of existence informs the field what to reappear as when it makes its transition back to form at the quantum level.
Therefore each time we oscillate into formlessness, we have complete and total control and responsibility over what we choose with our attention to manifest out of the field in the next moment, and our power and ability to do so relies entirely what we believe, and on how we are feeling.
A dramatic example of this is the case of Vittorio Michelli. In 1962 he was admitted to the Military Hospital of Verona, Italy with a large tumor on his left hip. The doctors knew that they could not help him, so his case was deemed hopeless and he was sent home without treatment, and after about 10 months his left hip bone had completely disintegrated. As a last resort, he traveled to Lourdes, France and bathed himself in the spring there (which is a Christian holy site famous for producing miracles).
Immediately he started feeling better, he regained his appetite, and bathed himself in the spring a few more times before he left. After a few months of being home he felt such a powerful sense of well-being that he urged the doctors to x-ray him again, and they were astonished to find that his tumor had shrunk. Over the next several months they kept a close watch on him, and his X-rays showed that his tumor kept on shrinking, until it was gone. And once his tumor disappeared, his hipbone started regenerating.
After two months he was walking again, and several years later his hip bone had completely regenerated. The Vatican’s Medical Commission, in their official report said:
“A remarkable reconstruction of the iliac bone and cavity has taken place. The X-rays made in 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1969 confirm categorically and without doubt that an unforeseen and even overwhelming bone reconstruction has taken place of a type unknown in the annals of world medicine.” (The Holographic Universe, p.107)
Ordinarily this would be deemed miraculous, and indeed it truly is. But I find this miraculous in the sense of the true power of human intention and belief that it displays. Moreover, this is powerful evidence that suggests that there is an energetic structure which our ‘material bodies’ align with, because that is one of the only logical explanations for how Vittorio Michelli’s hip bone knew exactly which shape to grow back into unless there was some sort of energetic blueprint which was instructing its growth, which as the Vatican’s Medical Commission clearly stated, was “unknown in the annals of world medicine.”
In medicine, maybe this was unknown, but the same cannot be said for physics. At the atomic level atoms bond with one another to form molecules which have specific geometric structures as if there is an energetic blueprint which they are adhering to which dictates the shapes they maintain together.
If our bodies are a projection of consciousness, then our consciousness would create an energetic blueprint which our atoms and molecules align with to create our bodies. There is highly suggestive evidence of the existence of this energetic blueprint (or human energy field) in the new research on DNA which proves that it transmits, receives, and thus reads energy directly from the field.
Michelli’s case is a perfect example of our human ability to re-organize that vacuum structure with our energy and intentions, and thus manifest what we desire directly out of the field for truly miraculous results. The fact that he started to feel better and started to believe that he was healed is, I suggest, the key to his healing.
Some may want to stick with the belief that God healed this man, and I would agree to you. But you and I would probably disagree on the nature of this God. For I contend that you are god, as are we all, because the force we call God is the energy and infinite consciousness behind creation, and thus when we tap into ourselves as pure consciousness, i.e. without thought through meditation, then we open ourselves to the infinitude of our own awareness because we inseparably are that infinite creative consciousness. We are it and it is us.
And when we open up to that energy, we allow ourselves to be flooded with a “powerful sense of well-being” and knowing which has astounding power to create reality, and directly affects our biology.

The Body as a Projection of Consciousness
I want you to really internalize the understanding that reality is flashing in and out of form. This is absolutely crucial in understanding our ability to heal, because if half of the time we are formless, then (1) Who are we really, because obviously our bodies and the material world is illusory to a degree; and (2) What is the blueprint which is guiding the rearrangement of our bodies each time we quite literally re-materialize?
The answer to both questions would be consciousness. Our bodies are a holographic projection of our consciousness, and they are the sum total of our beliefs about ourselves. If we can change our beliefs about ourselves, and thus if we can change the energy that defines our human energy field, then we can change the energetic blueprint which our body aligns with as it re-materializes back into form 1044 times per second.
(The exact structure and dynamics of our consciousness which make us both a fractal and holographic expression of this infinite God-consciousness can be found in Nassim Haramein’s Holofractographic Universe theory, and in his work Crossing the Event Horizon.)
Deepak Chopra told a story that illustrates this perfectly in his book, How to Know God. A friend of his injured his foot while working out in a gym because he was unaccustomed to using one of the machines and strained it. The pain in his foot increased over the next few days, and he found it increasingly difficult to walk, so upon “medical examination it was found that he had a common ailment known as planar fasciitis, in which the connecting tissue between the heel and the front of the foot had been stretched or torn.” (How to Know God, p.221)
His friend decided not to have surgery and instead to tough it out, but in time he found it so painful and difficult to walk that he sought out a Chinese Healer in desperation. This Chinese man was ordinary by appearance, and gave “no evidence of being mystical or spiritual, or in any way gifted in healing.” The injured friend of Deepak Chopra continues:
“After gently feeling my foot, he stood up and made a few signs in the air behind my spine. He never actually touched me, and when I asked what he was doing, he simply said he was turning some switches in my energy field. He did this for a minute or so and then asked me to stand up. I did, and there was no sensation of pain, not the slightest. You have to remember that I had limped in, barely able to walk.”
“In complete amazement I asked him what he had done. He told me that the body was an image projected by the mind, and in a state of health the mind keeps this image intact and balanced. However, injury and pain can cause us to withdraw our attention from the affected spot. In that case, the body image starts to deteriorate; its energy patterns become impaired, unhealthy. So the healer restores the correct pattern – this is done instantly, on the spot – after which the patient’s own mind takes responsibility for maintaining it that way.” (How to Know God, p.222)
This story has fascinated and inspired me ever since I heard it. As we have seen, reality is flashing in and out of existence innumerable times every second, oscillating between form and formlessness, and quantum physics knows that our thoughts and beliefs influence the quantum reality which is the source of the material world. Therefore it is only natural to assume an energetic and formless source for all of creation, including our physicality.
I think it is absolutely clear that we must start to consider ourselves as more than a physical body. In truth it is much more coherent to think of ourselves as a luminous energy field organizing ourselves in a body, or as pure consciousness manifesting and temporarily experiencing this level of reality through our bodies. New evidence is clearly illustrating that our mind is non-local and is independent of the brain, which means it doesn’t need the brain, or the body for that matter, to exist.
We are so much more than we think we are, and infinitely more than we have been lead to believe. The next step that we have to take, moreover, the next step in our human evolution now involves us learning how to use and hone this power we have to influence reality and literally manifest anything we want directly out of the field, from a new hip, to perhaps better eyesight, or a fit and healthy body, all the way to a new life.
But how is this done?
Healing Your Field, Healing Your Body
To heal, all that we need to do is purify our energy so that the energetic projection of our body is unobstructed. Then our atoms and molecules can align perfectly to this structure because there is no energetic interference to disrupt the image of our body as projected by our consciousness.
We do this by getting in the gap between our thoughts, where our beliefs no longer affect our reality, for, when we are not thinking, we are also free of beliefs and expectations. And by doing this we are aligning ourselves with universal principles, and matching our energy with the energies coming directly from the field of all-possibility – those high frequency energies of love, kindness, inspiration, passion, joy, and so on.
The first step is to consider the possibility that we are not only energy, but that there is infinite energy all around us which we can consciously tap into to promote healing in our body and mind, to become a more happy, healthy, vibrant and creative being. As soon as you start to connect to the infinite energy of creation and your own true nature as formless energy, then you start to become aware of these energies in your body which returns the projection of your body to its natural state.
The projection of your body can only be disrupted by a disturbance in your energy field – your consciousness- caused by unbalanced thoughts and emotions, and limiting beliefs. Our luminous energy field is naturally vibrant, and our energy naturally flows unhindered as a powerful stream of consciousness, but the lower levels of consciousness, which we have been conditioned to live in as part of our social indoctrination, disrupt this flow which if left unhindered would express its perfection everywhere.
Another key concept to understand is that your body is always regenerating. In a talk of Deepak Chopra’s that I listened to, he pointed out that atoms do not age. They do not die, and the same atoms that existed at the big bang around 14 billion years ago exist to this day, some of which are even within you.
Every year 98% of the atoms in your body are exchanged for ‘new’ atoms. You are constantly dying, and being reborn, and literally transforming at the atomic and molecular levels. Every three days you have a new stomach lining, every month you have new skin, every three months you have a new skeleton. And every year you have almost an entirely new body (Deepak Chopra from Living Beyond Miracles with Wayne Dyer).
Deepak Chopra described it beautifully by saying that our atoms “are like migrating birds”. They are not permanent, they are completely independent, and are drifting through space and time and merely being organized into structures such as our bodies by none other than our energy field which organizes them as a magnetic field organizes metal filings, only slightly more complex.
What more proof do we need in order to start looking at our bodies differently, and in general looking at the mechanism of health itself in a new light?
None of the raw materials that form your physical body age, moreover, they are constantly changing. Therefore I ask this of you. Is it really you that is changing? And what is the force that organizes these atoms and molecules back where they are supposed to be, and makes sure that they perfectly and harmoniously continue to do their jobs even while your cells and atoms are migrating by the billions?
Your body is not the real you. Your body is merely a projection of what you believe yourself to be. If you could discover that you are pure consciousness, and that who you really are is an infinite creative awareness that is manifesting reality and co-creating reality with other aspects of yourself (because every being is an expression of the infinite universal consciousness we have labelled as God), then you can start to take complete control over your body, your health, and your life.
Chronic pain, disease, illness, or the old injuries that you have in your body are not actually in your body, they are in your mind. More specifically, they are a function of your perception. Your atoms are always changing, and your molecules are too, but as new atoms come and as new molecules are formed, and as you flash in and out of existence, your energetic field is telling them where to go, what to do, and how to align with one another.
Therefore, you are holding disease, illness, pain, and injuries within your consciousness, and thus, they are imprinted in your energetic field, and only then do they proceed to manifest in your physiology.
If this is the case, then not only is our health completely under our willful control, but the rate at which we age may even be under our control as well. Now I am not suggesting that we can be immortal, because we already are as infinite beings of consciousness. What I am suggesting is that in a time long forgotten, and in the near future, human beings have had and will realize again the ability to live from this field, and live consciously from their nature as luminous beings of pure energy.
At that time human beings will realize that the body is a manifestation of our highest self, and we can not only consciously manifest anything in life, but anything in our bodies as well. And one day we will reach a point where we can continually regenerate our bodies at will because we live from the field of infinite energy, and thus our bodies simply operate at a higher frequency so that we can live in them until our work is completed and we choose to move on.
Fantastic? Yes. But these changes are noticeable within the human body and mind even after a little bit of practice and training, so decide to feel and experience it for yourself, and learn how to meditate. This is what evidence is clearly suggesting and my own experience also indicates to be true. The only hindrance to tapping into this nature of the universe is your own conscious awareness, your level of attention, and your beliefs.
Our ability to heal is directly related to our level of attention and our level of belief. For example we can heal ourselves of any affliction, illness, disease, or injury that is possible so long as we have absolute certainty, a knowing, that we will be healed. This is directly achieved by accessing the most fundamental level of reality through deep meditation.
This is because at the fundamental level of reality, anything is possible, and the restructuring of reality is dictated entirely by our beliefs and expectations. We are pure energy, and there is infinite potential in that energy. It is entirely up to us what we choose to manifest out of the field in our lives and in our bodies.
You have no limitations, and nothing is impossible. It is only your beliefs which dictate what you can and cannot do.
“Miracles happen, not in opposition to nature, but in opposition to what we know of nature.” - St. Augustine
Modern Science is now beginning to confirm what Spirituality, Philosophy, Sages, Ancient teachings and psychedelics have been saying for millennia, that the entire Universe is One and that what we think of as "reality" is just an illusion.. And the only real thing in the Universe is Consciousness.
"If quantum mechanics hasn't profoundly shocked you, you haven't understood it yet." ~ Niels Bohr
So many things are trying to pull us apart, individually and collectively. Never mind fear of everything manufactured or imaginary tearing at people’s psyches, but actual realities that are accosting everyone on this planet in some form or another. Their effects are subtle yet they’re in our faces, and are spreading out humanity’s energies.
It’s a time to focus.
Focus on what we are determined to fulfill. Focus on our life mission and its importance in the grand scheme of things; focus on our personal effectiveness and our immediate surroundings, those we love and the planet we care about and how we can be better instruments for Truth. We need to focus on what we can do and be, all the time leaving ourselves open to new avenues of expression.
Granted, things do constantly change, and at an increasing rate. Adaptation to these Universal realities is essential to practical, conscious living.
Everything else outside of these priorities, while they may seem to contribute to our overall understanding, are informative although often a potential distraction. If we can’t focus our power and attention or, more importantly, our intention we won’t make any headway in the right direction. Instead we’ll be pushed and pulled the direction of the controllers and succumb to their mud slides of lies and deceit.
A Time for Transcending
While over spiritualizing can be a hazard, under spiritualizing is just as dangerous. We’re each in a very individual endeavor to enact a life of meaning and substance. To learn and grow and care for ourselves as effective human beings, and to love and empower our loved ones and the world around us, this is our innate mission.
Yet the worldly influences play on and on in an effort to dilute our attention and distract us.
We’re presented with a time of serious challenges. Life is always a challenge, but today’s global issues and the institutionalized mechanization of so-called scientific and technological advancements is particularly disturbing and alarming. We’re at a crossroads, a very literal one, where we either respond consciously, or succumb to their barrage of life numbing mechanizations
Why Is It So Hard to Break Away?
Inertia is a massive force, yet it sits still…and causes us to do the same. With the complete dearth of intellectual clarity in the world today, never mind loving spiritual enlightenment, most take little thought about changing their basic circumstances. They’ve been bamboozled to think survival in a world of want and scarcity requires seriously digging in wherever they find a niche.
So very sad. Prisoners of their own freely imprisoned free will.
More people are experiencing this sensation of a need to escape these phenomena by the day, trying to break out of a very constricting social, political and personal paradigm. The real danger is the lack of response by those who are “called”, “touched on the shoulder”, who catch on and don’t know what, if anything, to do about it. They then stop in their compromised tracts. That’s where the fat and falsely happy pitfall of apathy resides.
A seriously and faultily reasoned non-response. Ultimately based in self preservation. A reaction our controllers rely upon.
Lack of conscious response to very real stimuli is the definition of apathy; not caring enough to react or respond, no matter the impulse or circumstance. Sad but understandable in our drugged up, yet dumbed down society. Yet it’s not nearly as innocent as it may seem in the true scheme of things. We all respond, and are therefore response – able to take appropriate action.
We’re Here to Live Now
I find any excuse for not responding to the call and taking a stand against this onslaught is a bad excuse. Ours is to live life fully, and that means with courage of conviction. In this “day and age” it appears anyone can slosh by with a gutless attitude, just consuming while radiating candied goodness, all of which is destined to implode. Whereas truly living for today requires honesty and sincerity at very profound levels.
That’s where consciousness comes in.
We must take this warfare to the next level. It comes by simple personal commitment. We each do our part. We share, we act, we inform, we press with the Truth every opportunity we can. It’s not complicated. As we do so, others will be inspired to do the same no matter how many seem to listen. It’s putting our shoulder to the massive spiritual wheel behind the scenes that matters.
This is where change happens.
It’s time. There really is no excuse anymore. Responding consciously is our awakened path. As we do so, more clears before us. This is an experience that is guaranteed for anyone taking the conscious, actively aware path. Try it and see for yourself.
Focus on conscious, spiritually responsible action. Let the other influences fall away. They are distractions, and dangerous ones, for you and your loved ones.
Take appropriate action – consciously and in your daily, practical life. Let the fears and worries fall away.
You’ll be glad you did.
Some Inspiration – We’re Brothers and Sisters In the Face of Change
Higher states of consciousness (HSCs) – or awakening experiences, as I prefer to call them – are moments of revelation, when we perceive reality at a heightened intensity. The world around us comes to life, and is filled with an atmosphere of harmony and meaning. A spirit-force seems to pervade all things, and the spaces between them, bringing everything into oneness.
We experience ourselves as part of this oneness too, and feel ecstatic or serene. At the highest intensity of awakening, we might feel that we’ve become one with the universe, and attain a state of complete fullness and perfection. The whole material world may dissolve away, into an ocean of spiritual radiance.
These experiences are sometimes associated with meditation, nature or psychedelic drugs, but what exactly is it that causes them? Why is it that the limits of our normal consciousness sometimes fall away, giving us access to a world of is-ness, beauty and meaning which is normally hidden from us?
Neuroscientists generally believe that HSCs are caused by changes in brain activity. However, just because HSCs or awakening experiences appear to be associated with certain brain states, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the brain states produce the experiences. It could be the other way round – increased electrical activity in the frontal lobes, or less activity in the posterior superior parietal lobe, could just as easily be the result of higher states of consciousness rather than causes of them. These scientists may only be looking at the ‘footprints’ of the experiences, rather than the cause of them.
My view is that there are two basic types of awakening experiences, which have two distinct causes. The first type are wild, ecstatic experiences that happen when the normal homeostasis of our brain and bodies is disrupted. This is a ‘loophole’ which human beings have made use of throughout history. This is why there has always been a link between fasting and spirituality, for example. A prolonged lack of food appears to make the hold which ordinary consciousness has over us looser, and bring us closer to an awakened vision of the world. Fasting puts us ‘out of homeostasis’ by causing physiological changes, such as a lower level of blood glucose, higher levels of insulin and a lower body temperature.
Indigenous peoples often fast and deprive themselves of sleep as a preparation for rituals, dance and vision quests, using physical deprivation as a way of ‘purifying’ themselves. The Vision Quest was a spiritual exercise used by some Native American peoples as a way of building up spiritual power and communicating with spirits. The person would go to a solitary spot – often the top of a mountain – and stay there for up to four days, fasting and exposing themselves to the elements (usually wearing almost no clothes, even if the weather was cold). He or she would try to attain a state of complete attentiveness to their surroundings, since sacred powers might try to communicate with them at any moment. As a result, they might experience a higher state of consciousness (that is, higher than their normal low level higher state), with strong feelings of peace and a sense of connection to the natural world, and also be given special knowledge – such as a message or a new song or dance – from spirits.
In ancient Greece and – at a later time – throughout the Middle East and the Roman Empire, a large number of esoteric cults existed outside conventional religions. These ‘mystery cults’ were usually centred around particular gods, but rather than just worshipping them, the participants aimed to become one with the gods, or to be possessed by them. They fasted and went without sleep before ceremonies, and used a variety of other methods of disrupting homeostasis during them: they would take drugs, beat themselves, and dance frenziedly, so that they might be – in the words of the ancient philosopher Proclus, who observed the mysteries at first hand – “filled with divine awe.”
Pain can also be used as a way of inducing awakening experiences. We can see this in the long tradition of asceticism, for instance, which runs through all of the world’s religions and spiritual traditions. An ascetic is someone who deliberately denies his body’s needs, and inflicts pain and discomfort on himself, either through fasting, abstaining from sensual pleasures and comforts, or by physically beating or injuring himself. This sounds like sadism, and for some ascetics it probably was. It’s also likely that some ascetics were motivated by morbid self-hatred and neurotic feelings of guilt towards sex and other bodily processes, which made them want to punish themselves.
It goes without saying that inflicting pain on yourself, or forcing yourself to go without sleep or food, are hardly ideal ways of transcending ordinary consciousness. Although some ascetics apparently managed to continue torturing themselves for years and even decades, there’s obviously a very high risk of seriously injuring yourself, or dying of self-neglect. Aside from the famous ascetics like St Simeon Stylites and Henry de Suso, there were probably many others who followed similar practices but didn’t live long enough to gain any recognition. As a short term spiritual technology asceticism is fairly futile anyway; you might gain a brief glimpse of a higher reality but this only lasts as long as the chemical changes that the pain and suffering have produced inside you. Your body always returns to homeostasis, and you always have to return your constricted normal consciousness.
There must be easier ways of ‘disrupting the equilibrium’ than fasting, sleep deprivation or pain – and there are. If we know that all an ascetic is really doing by torturing himself is changing his normal chemistry, then surely, you might say, it’d be more sensible to just interfere with this chemistry directly – by taking drugs, for example, which would give us the same effect but wouldn’t involve any self-harm.
Human beings have always used drugs as a means of intensifying or altering consciousness. The early Indo-European conquerors of India worshipped their drink Soma, which most scholars believe was made from magic mushrooms; while the initiates of the Greek Eleusinian mysteries used a psychoactive drink called kykeon. Indigenous peoples often use drugs for spiritual purposes too: Native Americans ingest sacred plants such as fly-agaric mushrooms and peyote, while the Australian Aborigines have a powerful form of tobacco called pituri. In the right circumstances – and the right state of mind – psychotropic drugs can, it seems, take our minds out of the ‘mould’ of ordinary consciousness, and give us access to wider and more intense realities.
Joe Rogan Talks about DMT: The Spirit Molecule
The second type of awakening experiences are more serene and calm states which occur when our life-energy (or vitality) becomes more intensified. Normally there’s a continual outflow of our life-energy – it’s used up through mental activity (such as cognition, concentration and perception) and through our emotions and instincts. But sometimes, when we’re relaxed, fairly inactive and our minds are quiet, this outflow or energy decreases. Life-energy becomes concentrated inside us, which generates an awakening experience.
This is why meditation often generates spiritual experiences. When we sit down to meditate, we take ourselves off the treadmill of daily tasks and activities for a while, and sit quietly and close our eyes, so that we don’t use up much life-energy through concentration and perception. Our ‘thought-chatter’ slows down too, and we normally become free of emotional activity and sexual desire. As a result, after meditation there is an inner concentration of our life-energy, it’s concentrated and intensified rather than dispersed and dissipated.
We can see meditation is a conscious attempt to build up an intensification of life-energy and so generate awakening experiences, but there are many situations when this happens spontaneously. This is the reason why nature is such a powerful trigger for awakening experiences, for example. The beauty of nature may have a similar effect to a mantra in meditation, directing attention away from the chattering of the ego-mind. Cognitive activity may fade away, until life-energy intensifies, bringing a sense of inner peace and wholeness and heightened awareness of the phenomenal world.
Sports can trigger awakening experiences too. This is particularly true of sports which involve long periods of monotonous rhythmic activity, such as long distance running or swimming. The activity itself serves as a focusing device, and quietens the chattering ego-mind. Similarly, the poet Ted Hughes often experienced a meditative state while fishing. He notes how poetry depends upon the ability to intensely focus the mind, and believes that he acquired this ability through fishing. He describes the effect of staring at a float for long periods: “All the nagging impulses that are normally distracting your mind dissolve… once they have dissolved, you enter one of the orders of bliss. Your whole being rests lightly on your float, but not drowsily, very alert.”
This may also be part of the reason for connection between sex and spiritual states. The sheer pleasure of sex can shift our attention away from the ego-mind, which may fall silent as a result, bringing what D.H. Lawrence described as “the strange, soothing flood of peace which goes with true sex.” At the same time, sex may release new energy inside us, energy which is normally dormant but can arise and shoot through us like electricity.
HD Versus ILE States
As sources of awakening experiences, ILE (intensification of energy) states have certain advantages over HD (homeostasis disruption) states. The latter have more physical and psychological risks. Drug experiences (and other HD states) produce a powerful blast which immobilises the ego, and if this blast is regularly repeated the ego structure may dissolve, and never be able to re-form itself.
In a sense, HD experiences are only really a shortcut too. It’s as if we’ve just stumbled on a defect in the mechanisms of consciousness, a kind of legal clause which gives us a quick and easy way of escaping ordinary consciousness, and are exploiting it. You could compare it to schoolchildren tricking their teacher into leaving the room so they can enjoy a few minutes of freedom while she’s away – but the teacher always comes back again, of course, and then everything goes back to normal. On the other hand, ILE states can bring about permanent change in a more organic and positive way. They can change the structure of the psyche without damaging it, and gradually create a new state of being, so that wakefulness becomes not just a temporary experience, but a permanent state.
This isn’t to demean the importance of higher states of consciousness induced by drugs or other HD states. They can come as a bolt out of the blue, breaking through the familiar, taken-for-granted world and making us aware that higher realms of reality do exist. For some people, their first experiences of psychedelics might have the same effect as experiencing flashes of normal complete vision would have on a man who’s been partially blind all his life without realising it. The powerful transcendent reality they’ve been exposed to may also bring about a change in their personality, at least over the following months, and perhaps even years. It might make them more humble, less materialistic or egotistical, and give them a sense of security or hope, making them aware that the world is more meaningful and harmonious than they had believed.
For many people, drug-induced awakening experiences have been the beginning of a spiritual journey, encouraging them to investigate Eastern spiritual traditions or more reliable and healthy consciousness-changing practices. This is what happened to the Harvard professor Richard Alpert, for example, who was one of the pioneers of research into psychedelics. He conducted experiments with psilocybin at Harvard University with Timothy Leary in 1962, and continued studying the effects of psychedelic even after he was expelled from the university. However, Alpert quickly became disillusioned with drugs, doubting that they could lead to permanent change, and travelled to India, where he learned yoga and meditation and took the name Ram Dass. He has spent the rest of his life exploring spiritual practices and teachings and spreading the wisdom he has found.
On the other hand, using drugs as a spiritual technology may create a passive attitude, and a reluctance to make the long term disciplined effort which permanent transformation requires – as was the case with Ram Dass’ colleague Timothy Leary, whose pursuit of ‘chemical enlightenment’ degenerated into a life of self-indulgence. As the religious scholar Huston Smith put it, “Drugs appear to induce religious experiences: it is less evident that they can produce religious lives.”
Profound evidence exists supporting the concept that human potentials are not confined to third-dimension realities of height, breadth and depth, or of matter, energy, space and time. New scientific models for space-time transcendence are being researched. But human culture is rich regarding multidimensional and hyperspace phenomena experienced by the human psyche which are analogous to some of the new scientific models.
Cultural and experiential evidence is strong indicating that multidimensional types can "travel" between and have conscious visualizations and perceptions of hyperspace dimensions. A technology is possible regarding transmission and access of hyperspace information. This technology could restructure human focus and activity.
The most incredible journeys ever taken have been made within the realms of the human mind. Perhaps for some, these journeys are simply pleasant day dreams, mental travels to the far-away places on earth. But for people who can mentally access other space/time continuums, people called "multidimensionals," their journeys consist of far more than just imaginings.
The implications of multidimensional experiencers for the future of mankind are staggering -- for their mind journeys allow remarkable amounts of very different, advanced technological information to be brought into our third-dimensional realities.
Research has shown that multidimensionals can actually travel into hyperspace and have conscious visualization and perceptions of other time/space dimensions, including accessing information through their own DNA. Often they speak of formulas, mathematical equations and atomic structure in ways quite different from current scientific thought.
Hyperspace is defined as the spatial dimensions beyond time and the reality known as the three dimensional world, defined by height, width, and depth of space. It is also referred to as subspace or multidimensionality.
The third dimension, which humans experience, exists within hyperspace as a subset or one of many dimensions. This reality, according to theoretical physicists, may also be one of many, many parallel universes.
In his book HYPERSPACE , Michio Kaku ably demonstrates that the existence of higher dimensions and hyperspace is well grounded in scientific principles.
Dr. Michio Kaku on Parallel Universes, Time Travel and other Advanced Technologies
Today's theoretical physicists have clearly defined hyperspace, introduced the existence of "wormholes" or tunnels between dimensions, alternate universes and, again theoretically, have postulated access to both the past and the future. Most of these physicists are searching for ways to access hyperspace by a mechanical, third dimensional means.
But history relates that there has been an abundance of people who, through their minds, have had the potential, sometimes developed into ability, to access higher dimensions. These people have been called prophets, seers, diviners. Even science fiction writers, such as H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, have shown uncanny knowledge of the future in both their inventions and their writings.
Multidimensional experiencers, with their long history, may truly represent a new evolutionary development of the human species, forerunners on the evolutionary path. Although many more multidimensionals will be born beginning in the 1990s, many born in the 1940s are now reaching their full potential. Perhaps the most renowned multidimensional of this century was Albert Einstein. His apparent ability to access regions beyond the third dimension brought in a new physics and opened the door to the development of much of today's technology.
One multidimensional we interviewed explains,
"The message I related to you was given to me by these impulses that are difficult to perceive, as our current condition and language interfere with meaning. As I visualized the need for a new energy source, it was shown visually, interpreted poetically and named in linear fashion for integration into third dimensional use."
Multidimensionals know that they see, feel and experience dimensions in addition to, and very different from, the every-day third-dimensional world. Advanced concepts often come to multidimensionals in the form of a universal communication system, carried by light frequencies, seen as visions, symbols, colors, numbers, or heard through unusual and not yet understood sound mechanisms.
Once properly understood, nurtured and cultivated, multidimensionals have much to offer humanity. They are the forerunners of a new world.
But being on the frontier often has pitfalls.
Their experiences are often difficult to verbalize for there is little common ground with third dimensional reality. The translation of these experiences is one of the most difficult challenges encountered. Yet, those multidimensionals who could interpret their findings, such as Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla, were considered the geniuses who changed the world.
Once multidimensionals understand that they are, indeed, accessing information which exists outside known reality, the second, and perhaps largest, challenge comes in mastering their abilities. Hyperspace is so incredibly vast that there is no limit to the number of space/time continuums that can be accessed.
A multidimensional might access, say, the fifth or higher dimensions, or, they could travel inside the very atoms of the third-dimensional reality. The complexities of knowing their exact location within hyperspace are overcome with training and diligent effort. The position in hyperspace dictates both what will be encountered and how it should be interpreted.
Many multidimensionals see other beings, intelligences in hyperspace, and worlds different from Earth - as well as seeing symbols, equations, machines, colors. Due to the high strangeness of hyperspace, each will interpret what they see in terms of their own past experiences and knowledge. The dimensions are teeming with life forms of all descriptions, from balls of light to very concrete civilizations.
Dr. Michio Kaku The Universe Has 11 Dimensions
Carl Jung, in his work on interpretation of dreams identified the symbolic archetypes of the collective unconscious which frequently appear in the dream world. Time-space has not yet had this type of study. While the mind can comprehend known objects and familiar landscapes, it cannot easily comprehend something that is totally unknown. When multidimensionals see something that is previously unknown to them, they must expand their concepts to integrate the new information and also be able to correlate this new knowledge to the third dimension.
Because so much is unknown regarding the phenomena encountered in hyperspace, it is advisable, regardless of religious persuasion, for people to utilize an affirmation when accessing the higher realms. An affirmation is used as a means of protection for the individual, to attract the right vibrational frequencies and repel the wrong ones. Setting up the right vibrational frequency is important.
Robert Monroe, founder of the Monroe Institute of Applied Sciences, utilized an excellent affirmation in which he stated that he was more than his physical body, and asked for guidance from higher beings. Until much more is known about the inhabitants of hyperspace, it is not wise to be open to any and all energies which could be encountered.
In addition to learning how to locate themselves in hyperspace and to interpret what they are experiencing, multidimensionals integrate these aspects with their third-dimensional selves. Many multidimensionals are extremely advanced when they are born. Others lives normal, almost ordinary, lives in their early years, until one or more events open the doors within their minds, and they are whisked, totally unprepared, through the dimensional doorway.
They have entered the next step in their ability to access hyperspace. People who are born with the awareness of hyperspace capabilities have a much easier time with integration of the experience than those who come into awareness later in life.
Changing mental focus between dimensions can occur rapidly and is often the result of outside stimuli - a harmonic resonance which can trigger the change of focus, and which can also act as a guide. This harmonic resonance may come in the form of any number of things (a sound, a word, a flash of light, a sentence, or an event) which acts as the opening key to a specific range of knowledge in hyperspace.
The shift of mental focus between dimensions and into hyperspace can be random and specific words or key phrases seem to delineate given areas. Large amounts of information can result when a multidimensional is directed in a definite way to a given area.
The harmonic resonance, or activating mechanism, serves the same function as a query into a computer. Although there may be unlimited data available, the query sets the parameters for specific information concerning a given topic. These activating mechanisms (or "triggers") can come at any time from anywhere - such as from emotions, written material, TV, other people, etc.
Tones are one of the most common mechanisms for causing or enabling a person to switch dimensions. Monroe, for example, was a pioneer in exploring the effects of tones on the human brain and hyperspace experiencing. He discovered that the brain will respond or resonate by producing similar electrical signals when certain types of sound frequencies are heard.
Alternate or special states of awareness - sleep, tranquility, etc. - can be produced by hearing a certain sound pattern. A tone is heard with which the brain will resonate, and a corresponding state will ensue. Monroe discovered that both sides of the brain could be brought into synchronization by the introduction of two tones, one in each ear. He termed this Hemi/sync.
Spontaneous, or random forms of remote viewing will probably occur in certain multidimensionals. People with natural remote viewing abilities can go to specific locations, but the information they receive is at times random. Multidimensionals often need to interpret what they are seeing and the meaning of the information they obtain, otherwise the information may remain random, incomplete or garbled.
This differs from Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV) methods which are very clearly defined and strictly adhered to, requiring CRVers to have a high degree of discipline. Dr. H. E. Putoff, Ingo Swann, and others, while working at Stanford Research Institute, researched and developed Controlled Remote Viewing as a model which produced high increases in accuracy and could be taught.
There is no interpretation in CRV. Information obtained by CRV can be corroborated by duplication of results by different viewers and information gained by "on site" inspection. Remote viewing always focuses on obtaining information concerning a specific place, event or person and CRV was not designed for viewing things which cannot be independently verified, such as the existence of certain discarnate beings.
Those multidimensionals who can incorporate the discipline of Controlled Remote Viewing can benefit greatly from this particular type of remote viewing which takes a year or more of intensive training.
For multidimensionals, validation of their information is one of the greatest rewards, for validation is one of their most intense needs. To be a multidimensional is to have very powerful inner resources. But their resources are placed in an awkward and confusing situation when nurturing and subsequent validation is withheld, denied or not possible. They tend to spend hours in telephone conversations with people who are experts in a given field in order to obtain validation of the material they are obtaining in hyperspace.
It is vital to understanding that there are many, many multidimensionals in the world and that this is a human capability. Society has been very reluctant to validate the existence of "paranormal" abilities on any level. Until the world accepted his theories of highly advanced physics, Einstein was considered "mentally deranged" by his scientific peers.
The social reluctance to validate multidimensional phenomena has resulted in little knowledge regarding common hyperspace experiencing. The knowledge vacuum has also left many of the phenomena unidentified and unknown.
Research regarding human potential conducted (to mention but a few) at Stanford Research Institute, the Monroe Institute, and in many parapsychological research centers, has confirmed that humans possess enormous super-capabilities of all kinds. Because the human-capability spectrum is so enormous, many of these super-capabilities have not yet begun to be identified, studied or explored.
Multidimensionals have many well-developed psychic abilities, but not all psychics have developed hyperspace skills. Multidimensional experiencers differ from people who receive telepathic or mechanically forwarded information from various sources. They access, by direct experiencing, philosophical and technical information, mathematics, and advanced concepts within all the known sciences.
Gifted psychics are very highly evolved people who are beginning to come into the next stage of evolution, that of multidimensionality with greater awareness.
Multidimensional children are often born into families who do not, in any measure, understand or appreciate their abilities.
As a result, the young are confused and often rebellious. They are disoriented because they are aware of a world that present society insists does not exist. As indicated by many accounts, they are put on tranquilizers, or even stronger medication through conventional medical treatment to quiet, among other things, the "inner voice" they insist they hear.
The knowledge and talents of each child differs. They tend to speak in terms of mathematics, angles, equations, geometric forms, biological and atomic structures. They have a grasp of very technical knowledge, especially energy to matter to energy technology. Their abilities often conflict with third-dimensional education systems - and because of this, they sometimes abandon their multidimensionality.
They are of the future, doing futuristic work.
David Icke on The MultiDimensional Perception Deception
As they get older and begin to understand their nature, there are natural methods which enable multidimensionals to ground and control themselves. Grounding and control are vital tools for integration of the multiple realties.
Often multidimensional children have a heightened interest in people of other cultures, the environment, nature and wildlife, space and the universe. They have an advanced sense of the working and order of things, a precocious knowledge generally only obtained in higher education, if available there at all. As they mature, they are filled with a knowledge that comes forth without any visible external source of input. Parents and peers may not understand the source of this information, and that is part of what sets them apart and makes them feel so strange.
When multidimensional children start talking, it is sometimes evident that they have memories they cannot make others understand. One such child born in 1993, began speaking at a very early age. However, the language she used was not the language of her parents. Her unknown language had definite form, recognizable sound patterns, and it was very clear she understood that what she was saying had meaning. By age three she was still slow to form sentences in English, her mother's native language, and mixed in words with her earlier unknown language.
Multidimensional children often will express themselves in wonderfully colorful and interesting ways. Andrew Thomas Weaver, who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of six and a half, wrote and illustrated a book so remarkable his parents printed it in 1994.
Entitled FREEFALL'S FANTASTIC JOURNEY, it begins:
"When Asteroid Andrew dreamed at night, he transformed into a photon-blue interplanetary explorer, named FREEFALL. FREEFALL'S aeroballistic hyperbolic navigation guided him to the planet ECHO in the Galileo Galaxy."
Tomorrow's children will need more public awareness of who they are and what their purpose will be, for there will be many more of these extraordinary individuals coming into the world. Tomorrow's children will need societies' understanding and support of their very special gifts and talents.
Some multidimensionals have stated that they would rather live a quiet life secluded in the country than to go through the agony of multidimensional experiences. It is difficult for others to understand how anyone could make that kind of decision. But there is a high percentage of multidimensionals who want this.
They do not want to be hassled, do not want to go through the struggle and the agony of the experiences in a social environment which does not accept them in the first place. Because of their lack of intellectual understanding of what they experience, many turn to the self medication of alcohol in order to numb the sensations, both mental and physical.
Others utilize drugs to justify or "normalize" the experience. If others are experiencing something of the same thing, then the feeling of being different or abnormal is lessened -- i.e. everyone "trips" on drugs. There is often misdiagnosis by the mental health profession. This is especially true ofmultidimensional children whose parents, teachers and peers do not understand them at all.
On the other hand, multidimensionals who do not shut down their experiences and perceptions go to higher dimensions and seem to be able to tap resources of knowledge that would normally be identified only with genius -- such as understanding the finer structure of everything around them, whether it be human, biological, nuclear, atomic, or energy.
In general, our extended research seems to indicate that a statistical increase of multidimensional and hyperspace experience types is taking place. However, this increase is difficult to determine because our sample is limited (as all samples are) and because past assessments of this kind are absent. Many multidimensionals we have interviewed seem to be aware that an increase of this kind of awareness is taking place - and also that the current influx of multidimensionals is part of a greater plan to help correct the many ills now afflicting planet earth.
A new breed of highly sophisticated scientists, incorporating a spiritual awareness and fully utilizing the potential of the human mind, is the greatest hope of salvation from nuclear holocaust or complete environmental collapse - and possibly of future problems unknown today.
In essence, multidimensionals represent:
What multidimensionals are NOT is NON-human beings. They are fully human in all regards, but have accessed levels of awareness in themselves others are discouraged from discovering and experiencing. In other words, they are prototypes of larger human potential. They are examples of the old adage, "Anything is possible, if you know how." The multidimensionals know and share the "how" of tapping in to cosmic information transmission systems.
Although challenged by many scientists, the "100th monkey" syndrome was documented and theoretically established when simultaneous, spontaneous behavioral changes in monkeys occurred across distinct island chains after the 100th monkey "learned" the initial behavior.
Sacred Geometry and The Multidimensional Universe
In his book YOUR NOSTADRAMUS FACTOR, Ingo Swann indicated:
"In short, so the theory goes, if a hundred monkeys learn something, all monkeys will soon acquire this knowing even in the absence of any sensory contacts with the learned monkeys. [An] Unknown form of 'learned transmission' is thought to exist, which would explain all this. Such learning transmission is presumable PSYCHIC, since it is some nonsensory quality.
"Critics say this all bunk, but the facts remain. With a wide expanse of ocean separating them, monkeys learned something in a way that no standard or prevailing explanation can account for. It is rather well known that humans possess psychic states that influence those around them. And there is also a phenomenon of people separated by vast distances 'having the same idea at the same time.'"
Swann further observes that,
"...the hundredth monkey syndrome appears operative in negative as well as positive respects. If a lot of us forget or ignore one of our powers, eventually the rest of us, by 'dis-learning transmissions,' may do so also."
Multidimensionals CONSCIOUSLY receive information as energy frequency information transmissions. By so doing, they provide information pertaining to higher (or cosmic) knowledge transmission systems -- as opposed to materialistic, third-dimensional, hardware requiring transmission systems containing and perpetuating only third-dimensional information and knowledge.
Multidimensionals have shown that "cosmic" light, including sunlight, is the ultimate cosmic information transmission system. Earth has always received cosmic information transmissions. Humans have always received cosmic energy knowledge transmissions, but have repressed this knowledge from conscious awareness, relegating cosmic information input to deeply buried mind dynamics of the subconscious.
Successful multidimensionals have simply eradicated the barriers between conscious and subconscious inputs. They have opened pathways between the two mind centers and expanded their 5 to 15 per cent conscious awareness factor by an untold amount.
Human minds (conscious awareness) have been stuck or blocked into a "dis-learning" mindset which has short-circuited the potential of human mind functioning. Successful multidimensionals make adjustments necessary to unlock the mindset, and, once free from that state of non-awareness, can access higher dimensions. Their abilities to do this formulate a knowledge transmission system characterized by different mind frequencies.
Another mind-dynamic associated with the 100th monkey syndrome concerns qualitative phenomena as contrasted to only quantitative phenomena.
Perhaps it was not that 100 monkeys projected a particular learning transmission frequency. One clear frequency, accompanied in concert by supporting frequencies with the same information loads, would be capable of being received across great distances and synchronizing the thought patterns of others, bringing the learning transmission to conscious action.
Conversely, accomplished multidimensionals, emanating learning transmission frequencies could effect individuals they come into contact with, and, in concert, could reach millions, who, acting in the learning transmission themselves, could also access the dimensional pathways.
Individual conscious awareness of mind blocks incorporated with a conscious internal search for the learning transmission - rather than the dis-learning transmissions - are keys that allow the mind to expand.
The importance of breaking free of the third-dimensional mind blocks is, very simply, that humans have radically altered the planet's environment without radically altering themselves on a conscious mental level.
The result is a quest for material comfort and the irrational utilization of earth's resources in this pursuit, and it has already caused irreparable damage.
If humanity continues in perpetuating the current destructive mindsets, the earth CANNOT continue to support human life.
The blocked mindsets do not allow this knowledge of earth's inability to support burgeoning human life to become readily apparent - due to an inherent belief system that "life will always continue this way."
According to statistics published by the National Audubon Society and the Overpopulation Committee International, the human population was about 2.5 billion during the 1950s, and which was near the top end of earth's healthy carrying capacity. World population will exceed 10 billion by 2010 and reach 15 to 25 billion somewhere between 2020 and 2040, an increase of over 75 per cent beyond earth healthy and safe carrying capacity.
Whether multidimensional or not, those who have escaped the mind blocks can see the rapidly approaching end of material resources. Humans are decimating those resources at an astronomical rate. When earth's resources are exhausted, all that will be left is the damage.
The obvious question now becomes:
"How does a multidimensional vantage point contribute solutions to the many environmental and human ills (disease, starvation, war)?"
It must be comprehended that the environmental and human predicaments are a product of blocked mindsets which cause the lack of knowledge of MATTER FIRST BEING PURE ENERGY; of the human mind effects on pure energy; a mis-utilization of pure energy; and ignorance of the effects of the energycreated when the energy of matter is changed.
Access to a technology not locked into third-dimensional realities, a technology not blocked by third-dimensional mindsets, could restructure human focus and activity and work to restore earth environment.
Consider the following two charts representing multidimensionality and non-multidimensionality (3-D dimensionality only).

By having unlimited information ACCESS, successful or developed multidimensionals can view energy working and can also trace the energy paths from source to end results. Thus they can determine positive or negative outcomes of material creation and the procession of the energy-matter change dynamic.
For example, among the many multidimensionals we have interviewed was a man named Rory who described in several ways the procession of the energy-matter-change dynamic he experienced in healing.
"For example," he indicated, "when working with a horse with a damaged leg, I mentally saw a triangle from the back through the hip area -, through the right leg - going down - with circles at the top and the bottom of the triangle.
"There was puffy flesh around the circles, with three different shades of colors, green, light blue, off-white.
"When I am focusing my healing energy, as the healing takes place, the colors change, turn a different color and it is done.
"I have never associated a particular disease with a particular shape, because there never was any exactness. You have a broken bone, another person has a broken bone, I would see two completely different shapes, colors. Never any similarity. Never exactly the same shape and color.
"But the spontaneous healing takes place when the energy is mentally applied.
"Each healer visualizes differently, the energy transfer dynamic is the same. Energy to matter to energy (wellness)."
This is not futuristic science fiction, as Rory and other multidimensionals have demonstrated.
It is the reality available by breaking free from the mind blocks, by being able to access mental energy technology and then applying that technology in third-dimensional physical space.
Mental energy concepts and multidimensional potentials are every human's innate birthright. To activate that birthright, it must be dug from the graveyard of his own deeply buried, third-dimensional mind blocks.
The multidimensionals have opened the gateways. By their examples, they have set up the information transmission frequency on the highways of the mind - the highways which can lead to freedom from a destructive mind blocks toward a much higher quality of life for all.
NOTE FROM STEVEN LANIER: The below science has already been improved upon. The below sources do not note the discovery of the Amplituhedron. (Positive Grassmannian) which takes all of this research and puts it into the realm of science. This research also does not include quasicrystals, and their overall importance in the development of core atomic structure.
What the study below and the over 500 documented research resources/bibliography prove is that space and time is the emanation of a single geometric form. A geometric form created out of pure consciousness. The underpinning shape and amplitudes (geometry) is the 'jewel' that is projecting the entire universe. This entire study is referenced in detail in David Wilcock: Penrose Solves The Universe With Geometry.
I. Quantum computation and consciousness Proposals for quantum computation rely on superposed states implementing multiple computations simultaneously, in parallel, according to quantum linear superposition (e.g., Benioff, 1982; Feynman, 1986; Deutsch, 1985, Deutsch and Josza, 1992). In principle, quantum computation is capable of specific applications beyond the reach of classical computing (e.g., Shor, 1994). A number of technological systems aimed at realizing these proposals have been suggested and are being evaluated as possible substrates for quantum computers (e.g. trapped ions, electron spins, quantum dots, nuclear spins, etc., see Table 1; Bennett, 1995; and Barenco, 1995). The main obstacle to realization of quantum computation is the problem of interfacing to the system (input, output) while also protecting the quantum state from environmental decoherence. If this problem can be overcome, then present day classical computers may evolve to quantum computers.
The workings of the human mind have been historically described as metaphors of contemporary information technology. In ancient Greece memory was like a "seal ring in wax" and in the 19th century the mind was seen as a telegraph switching circuit. In this century the classical computer has been the dominant metaphor for the brain's activities. If quantum computation becomes a technological reality, consciousness may inevitably be seen as some form of quantum computation. Indeed enigmatic features of consciousness have already led to proposals for quantum computation in the brain.
Conventional explanations portray consciousness as an emergent property of classical computer-like activities in the brain's neural networks (e.g. functionalism, reductionism, physicalism, materialism, computationalism-Churchland, 1986; Dennett, 1991; Churchland and Sejnowski, 1992). The current leading candidate for a computer-like "neural correlate" of consciousness involves neuronal circuits oscillating synchronously in thalamus and cerebral cortex. Higher frequency oscillations (collectively known as "coherent 40 Hz") are suggested to mediate temporal binding of conscious experience (e.g. Singer et al 1990; Crick and Koch, 1990; Joliot et al, 1994; Gray, 1998). The proposals vary, for example as to whether coherence originates in thalamus or resonates in cortical networks, but "thalamo-cortical 40 Hz" stands as a prevalent view of the neural-level substrate for consciousness.
But how do neural firings lead to thoughts and feelings? Conventional ("functionalist") approaches fall short on the mind's enigmatic features. These include: 1) the nature of subjective experience, or qualia, our "inner life" (e.g. Nagel, 1974; Chalmers, 1996) 2) "binding" of spatially distributed brain activities into unitary objects in vision and a coherent sense of "self," 3) transition from pre-conscious processing to consciousness, 4) non-computability (Penrose, 1989; 1994; 1997), and 5) free will.
Functionalist approaches generally assume that conscious experience appears as a novel property at a critical level of computational complexity. On the surface this would seem to deal with issues 1 and 3, however a conscious threshold has neither been identified nor predicted, and there are no apparent differences in electrophysiological activities between non-conscious and conscious activity. Regarding the nature of experience (why we are not unfeeling "zombies") functionalism offers no testable predictions. Problem 2) of 'binding' in vision and self is often attributed by functionalists to temporal correlation (e.g. coherent 40 Hz), but it is unclear why temporal correlationper se should bind experience without an explanation of experience. As functionalism is based on deterministic computation, it is also unable to account for Penrose's proposed noncomputability (4), or free will (5). Something may be missing.
To address these issues, various proposals have been suggested in which macroscopic quantum phenomena are connected to the brain's known neural activity. For the problem of unitary binding, Marshall (1989) suggested that coherent quantum states known as Bose-Einstein condensation occurred among neural proteins (c.f. Penrose, 1987; Bohm and Hiley, 1993; Jibu and Yasue, 1995). Pre-conscious to conscious transitions were identified by Stapp (1992) with collapse of a quantum wave function in pre-synaptic axon terminals (c.f. Beck and Eccles, 1992). In another proposal, protein assemblies called microtubules within the brain's neurons are viewed as self-organizing quantum computers ("orchestrated objective reduction - Orch OR" e.g. Penrose and Hameroff, 1995; Hameroff and Penrose 1996a; 1996b; c.f. Hameroff 1997; 1998a; 1998b; 1998c; 1998d).
At first glance the possibility of macroscopic quantum states in biological systems seems unlikely, appearing to require either extreme cold (to avoid thermal noise) or laser-like energetic pumping to achieve coherent states. And as in technological proposals, perfect isolation of the quantum state from the environment (and/or quantum error correction codes) would be required while the system must also somehow communicate with the external world. Living cells including the brain's neurons seem unsuitably warm and wet for delicate quantum states which would seem susceptible to thermal noise and environmental decoherence. However specific conditions supporting quantum states in microtubules may have evolved (see Section III).
In addition to its biological setting, the Orch OR proposal differs significantly in another regard from technologically envisioned quantum computers. The latter would arrive at output states through reduction ("collapse") of quantum superposition to classical states by environmental decoherence the quantum state would be interrupted by the external world. The outcome states in technological quantum computers would therefore reflect deterministic processing influenced at reduction by some probabilistic randomness.
On the other hand Roger Penrose (1989; 1994; 1996) has proposed that isolated quantum systems which avoid environmental decoherence will eventually reduce nonetheless due to an objective threshold ("objective reduction" - OR) related to an intrinsic feature of fundamental spacetime geometry (see below). Unlike the situation following environmental decoherence, outcome states which reduce due to Penrose's objective reduction are selected by a non-computable influence on the deterministic, pre-reduction quantum computation. Noncomputability implies a non-algorithmic process which is neither deterministic nor random, a property which Penrose (e.g. 1997) also attributes to conscious thought and understanding. This clue suggests that quantum computation with objective reduction may be somehow involved in consciousness.
The objective factor in OR is an intrinsic feature of spacetime itself (quantum gravity). Penrose begins from general relativity with the notion that mass is equivalent to spacetime curvature. He concludes that quantum superpositionactual separation (displacement) of mass from itselfis equivalent to simultaneous spacetime curvatures in opposite directions, causing "bubbles", or separations in fundamental reality (Figure 1).
Figure 1a. Schematized protein (tubulin) capable of switching between two conformational states governed by London force interactions in a hydrophobic pocket. (Tubulin may actually have multiple smaller collectively governing hydrophobic pockets and more than two possible states. For simplicity a one pocket, two state protein is illustrated). Top: Protein switching between 2 conformational states coupled to localization of paired electrons (induced dipoles) within a hydrophobic pocket (see Section II). Bottom: quantum superposition (simultaneous existence in two distinct states) of the electron pair and protein conformation.1bFour dimensional spacetime may be schematically represented by one dimension of space and one dimension of time: a two dimensional "spacetime sheet." Mass is curvature in spacetime, and the two spacetime curvatures in the top of Figure 1b represent mass (e.g. a tubulin protein) in two different locations or conformations respectively. Mass in quantum superposition (mass separated from itself) is simultaneous spacetime curvature in opposite directions, a separation, or bubble in spacetime. At a critical degree of separation, the system becomes unstable and must select either one state or the other (from Penrose, 1994 p. 338).
Penrose views the bubbles as unstable, with a critical objective degree of separation resulting in instantaneous reduction to classical, unseparated states. Objective reductions are thus events which reconfigure the fine scale of spacetime geometry. As described in Section V, modern panpsychists attribute proto-conscious experience to a fundamental property of physical reality. If so, consciousness might involve self-organizing OR events rippling through an experiential medium.
Could OR events be occurring in the brain? If so, they would be expected to coincide with known neurophysiological processes with recognized time scales. The critical degree of spacetime separation causing Penrose's objective reduction is related to quantum gravity by the uncertainty principle:
E = hbar/T
where E is the gravitational selfenergy of the superposed mass (displaced from itself by e.g. the diameter of its atomic nuclei), is Planck's constant over 2, and T is the coherence time until OR selfcollapse. The size of an isolated superposed system is thus inversely related to the length of time until selfcollapse. Large superposed systems (e.g. Schrödinger's mythical 1 kg cat) would selfcollapse (OR) in only 1037 sec; an isolated superposed atom would OR only after 106 years! If OR events occur in the brain coupled to known neurophysiology, then we can estimate that T for conscious OR events may be in a range from 10 to 500 milliseconds (msec). This range covers neurophysiological activities such as 25 msec "coherent 40 Hz," 100 msec EEG rhythms, and Libet's (1979) 500 msec sensory perceptions). OR events coupled to roughly 100 msec activities would require a few nanograms of superposed mass.
Biological materials best suited for quantum computation and objective reduciton are proteins, particularly assemblies of proteins called microtubules.
II. Proteins and qubitsProteins are versatile macromolecules which perform a variety of functions by changing their conformational shape. Such functions include muscle movement, membrane firing via openings and closings of protein ion channels, molecular binding, enzyme catalysis, metabolism, movement and phase of cytoplasm. Life is organized by changes in protein shape.
Individual proteins are synthesized as linear chains of hundreds of amino acids which "fold" into 3 dimensional conformation. The precise manner of folding for each protein depends on attractive and repellent forces among its various amino acid side groups, and a current view is that many possible intermediate conformations precede the final one (Baldwin, 1994). Although complete linear sequences of amino acid chains are known for many proteins, predicting their final 3-dimensional folded shape using computer simulation has proven difficult if not impossible. This conundrum is known as the "protein folding problem" and so far appears to be "NP complete": the answer can be calculated in theory, but the space and time required of any classical computer is prohibitive. Perhaps protein folding is a quantum computation? (Crowell, 1996).
The main driving force in protein folding occurs as uncharged non-polar groups of particular amino acids join together and avoid water. Repelled by solvent water, "hydrophobic" non-polar groups attract each other (by van der Waals forcessee below) and bury themselves within the protein interior. As a result intra-protein hydrophobic pockets occur, composed of side groups of non-polar (but polarizable) amino acids such as leucine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, tyrosine and valine. Volumes of the pockets (~400 cubic angstroms, or 0.4 cubic nanometers) are roughly 1/30 to 1/250 the total volume of a single protein, and their physical solvent characteristics most closely resemble olive oil.
Though small, hydrophobic pockets may be critical to protein function. For example anesthetic gas molecules which reversibly ablate consciousness exert their effects in hydrophobic pockets of neural proteins (e.g., Franks and Lieb, 1982; 1985). Anesthetics bind in hydrophobic pockets by weak, physical interactions called London dispersion forces, a type of van der Waals force. Why are these weak, localized interactions so important to protein function and consciousness?
Proteins in a living state are dynamical, and only marginally stable. A protein of 100 amino acids is stable against denaturation by only ~40 kiloJoules per mole (kJ mol-1) whereas thousands of kJ mol-1 are available in a protein from side group interactions including van der Waals forces. Consequently protein conformation is a "delicate balance among powerful countervailing forces" (Voet and Voet, 1995).
Transitions in proteins occur at many time and size scales. For example small amino acid side chains move in the picosecond to femtosecond time scale (10-12 to 10-15 sec), and conformational transitions in which proteins move globally and upon which protein function generally depends occur in the nanosecond (10-9 sec) to 10 picosecond (10-11 sec) time scale (Karplus and McCammon, 1983). These global changes (e.g. as schematically represented in Figure 1a) appear to involve collective actions of various intra-protein activities (e.g. hydrogen bond rearrangements, dipole oscillations, van der Waals forces).
The types of forces operating among amino acid side groups within a protein include charged interactions such as ionic forces and hydrogen bonds, as well as interactions between dipolesseparated charges in electrically neutral groups. Dipole-dipole interactions are known as van der Waals forces and include three types:
1) Permanent dipole - permanent dipoleInduced dipole - induced dipole interactions are the weakest but most purely non-polar forces. They are known as London dispersion forces, and although quite delicate (40 times weaker than hydrogen bonds) are numerous and influential. The London force attraction between any two atoms is usually less than a few kiloJoules, however thousands occur in each protein. As other forces cancel out, London forces in hydrophobic pockets can govern protein conformational states.London forces ensue from the fact that atoms and molecules which are electrically neutral and spherically symmetrical nevertheless have instantaneous electric dipoles due to instantaneous asymmetry in their electron distribution. The electric field from each fluctuating dipole couples to others in electron clouds of adjacent non-polar amino acid side groups. Due to inherent uncertainty in electron localization, London forces which govern protein conformation are quantum effects which apparently couple to "zero point fluctuations" of the quantum vacuum (London, 1937; Milloni, 1994).
2) Permanent dipole - induced dipole
3) Induced dipole - induced dipole
Quantum level dipole oscillations within hydrophobic pockets were proposed by Frohlich (1968) to regulate protein conformation, and Conrad (1994) suggested proteins utilize quantum superposition of various possible conformations before one is selected. Roitberg et al (1995) showed functional protein vibrations which depend on quantum effects centered in two hydrophobic phenylalanine residues, and Tejada et al (1996) have evidence to suggest quantum coherent states exist in the protein ferritin. Could proteins be utilizing quantum superposition ("qubits") in determining their conformational states (bits)?
The possible situation may be characterized as in Figure 1a using the microtubule protein tubulin as an example. Tubulins are peanut-shaped dimers with two connected monomers and they undergo several types of conformational changes (e.g. Cianci et al, 1986). For example one monomer can shift 30 degrees from the tubulin dimer's vertical axis (Melki et al, 1989; c.f. Yagi et al, 1994). At the top of Figure 1a a tubulin protein switches between two such states, governed by hydrophobic pocket electron pairs coupled by London forces. (Tubulin may actually have several hydrophobic pockets and occupy more than two states, however for simplicity we consider one pocket and two states per protein.) The two possible states in the top of Figure 1a may be viewed as representing one bit of information. If however the hydrophobic pocket electron pair is superposed (Figure 1a, bottom), then protein conformation (if isolated from external environment) is also superposed and exists in both states simultaneously ("qubit"). A properly configured and isolated array of interactive protein qubits could constitute a quantum computer.
III. MicrotubulesInteriors of living cells are functionally organized by webs of protein polymers-the cytoskeleton (Figure 2). Major components of the cytoskeleton are microtubules, self-assembling hollow crystalline cylinders whose walls are hexagonal lattices of subunit proteins known as tubulin (Figure 3). Microtubules are essential for a variety of biological functions including cell movement, cell division (mitosis) and establishment and maintenance of cell form and function. In neurons, microtubules self-assemble to extend axons and dendrites and form synaptic connections; microtubules then help maintain and regulate synaptic strengths responsible for learning and cognitive functions. (For a more complete description of the role of microtubules and other cytoskeletal structures in cognitive functions see Dayhoff et al., 1994; Hameroff and Penrose 1996a; Hameroff, 1994). While microtubules have traditionally been considered as purely structural components, recent evidence has demonstrated mechanical signaling and communication functions (Glanz, 1997; Maniotis et al., 1997a; 1997b; Vernon and Wooley, 1995). Microtubules interact with membrane structures and activities by linking proteins (e.g. fodrin, ankyrin) and "second messenger" chemical signals.
Figure 2. Schematic of neural synapse showing cytoskeletal structures within two neurons. Left: Pre-synaptic axon terminal releases neurotransmitter vesicles (spheres) into synaptic cleft. Thick rod-like structures within axon are microtubules; thinner filaments (e.g. synapsin) facilitate vesicle release. Right: Dendrite on post-synaptic neuron with two dendritic spines. Microtubules in main dendrite are interconnected by microtubule-associated proteins. Other cytoskeletal structures (fodrin, actin filaments, etc.) connect membrane receptors to microtubules. Based on Hirokawa (1991).
Figure 3. Left: Microtubule (MT) structure: a hollow tube of 25 nanometers diameter, consisting of 13 columns of tubulin dimers arranged in a skewed hexagonal lattice (Penrose, 1994). Right (top): Each tubulin molecule may switch between two (or more) conformations, coupled to London forces in a hydrophobic pocket. Right (bottom): Each tubulin can also exist in quantum superposition of both conformational states (Figure 1a, c.f. Hameroff and Penrose, 1996).
How could microtubules implement classical information processing? Theoretical models propose that microtubule subunit tubulins undergo coherent excitations, for example, in the gigaHz range by a mechanism suggested by Frhlich ("pumped phonons"-Frhlich 1968, 1970, 1975; c.f. O. Penrose and L. Onsager, 1956). Frhlich excitations of tubulin subunits within microtubules have been suggested to support computation and information processing (e.g. Hameroff and Watt, 1982; Rasmussen et al., 1990). The coherent excitations are proposed to "clock" computational transitions occurring among neighboring tubulins acting as "cells" as in molecular scale "cellular automata." Dipole coupling among neighboring tubulins in the microtubule lattice act as "transition rules" for simulated microtubule automata exhibiting information processing, transmission and learning (Figure 4 - Rasmussen et al, 1990).
Classical microtubule automata switching in the nanosecond scale offer a potentially huge increase in the brain's computational capacity. Conventional approaches focus on synaptic switching (roughly 1011 brain neurons, 103synapses/neuron, switching in the millisecond range of 103 operations per second) and predict about 1017 bit states per second for a human brain (e.g. Moravec, 1985). However as biological cells typically each contain approximately 107 tubulins (Yu and Bass, 1994), nanosecond switching in microtubule automata predicts roughly 1016 operations per second, per neuron. This capacity could account for the adaptive behaviors of single cell organisms like paramecium, for example, who elegantly swim, avoid obstacles, and find food and mates without benefit of a nervous system or synapses. As the human brain contains about 1011 neurons, nanosecond microtubule automata offer about 1027 brain operations per second.
Figure 4. Microtubule automaton simulation (from Rasmussen et al., 1990). Black and white tubulins correspond to black and white states shown in Figures 1a and 3. Eight nanosecond time steps of a segment of one microtubule are shown in "classical computing" mode in which conformational states of tubulins are determined by dipole-dipole coupling between each tubulin and its six (asymmetrical) lattice neighbors calculated by where yi and ri are intertubulin distances, e is the electron charge, and is the average protein permittivity. Conformational states form patterns which move, evolve, interact and lead to emergence of new patterns.
However even a vast increase in computational complexity won't by itself address the difficult issues related to consciousness. Quantum coherent states and quantum computation with objective reduction (Orch OR) could possibly do so.
Figure 5. Schematic of quantum computation of three tubulins which begin (left) in initial classical states, then enter isolated quantum superposition in which all possible states coexist. After reduction, one particular classical outcome state is chosen (right).
Figure 5 illustrates the general idea for quantum computation with tubulins: 3 tubulins are shown in initial states, in isolated superposition of possible states during which quantum computation occurs, and in single post-reduction outcome states. Figures 6 shows microtubule automata entering quantum computation mode (gray) and meeting objective reduction threshold (between steps 6 and 7) for self-collapse to non-computably chosen outcome states. As described in Figure 7, pre-reduction quantum computation is suggested to correlate with pre-conscious processing, and the objective reduction process itself to a conscious moment. A series of such moments can give rise to a stream of consciousness (see Section V for a more complete description).
Figure 6. Microtubule automaton sequence simulation in which classical computing (step 1) leads to emergence of quantum coherent superposition (steps 26) in certain (gray) tubulins due to pattern resonance. Step 6 (in coherence with other microtubule tubulins) meets critical threshold related to quantum gravity for selfcollapse (Orch OR). Consciousness (Orch OR) occurs in the step 6 to 7 transition. Step 7 represents the eigenstate of mass distribution of the collapse which evolves by classical computing automata to regulate neural function. Quantum coherence begins to reemerge in step 8.
Macroscopic quantum states in brain microtubules would have to somehow avoid environmental decoherence and still communicate with the environment. Nature may have solved this problem with alternating phases of isolation and communication.
Figure 7. An Orch OR event. a) Microtubule simulation in which classical computing (step 1) leads to emergence of quantum coherent superposition (and quantum computing (steps 23) in certain (gray) tubulins. Step 3 (in coherence with other microtubule tublins) meets critical threshold related to quantum gravity for selfcollapse (Orch OR). A conscious event (Orch OR) occurs in the step 3 to 4 transition. Tubulin states in step 4 are noncomputably chosen in the collapse, and evolve by classical computing to regulate neural function. b) Schematic graph of proposed quantum coherence (number of tubulins) emerging versus time in microtubules. Area under curve connects superposed mass energy E with collapse time T in accordance with E=/T. E may be expressed as Nt, the number of tubulins whose mass separation (and separation of underlying space time) for time T will selfcollapse. For T = 25 msec (e.g. 40 Hz oscillations), Nt = 2 x 1010tubulins.
Microtubules and other cytoskeletal components are embedded in cytoplasm which exists in alternating phases of 1) "sol" (solution, liquid), and 2) "gel" (gelatinous, solid). Among the most primitive of biological activities, "solgel transformations" within neurons and other living cells are caused by assembly and disassembly of cytoskeletal actin (e.g. regulated by calcium ions through the protein calmodulin, in turn regulated by microtubules). Solgel transformations are essential in basic cellular activities such as ("amoeboid") movement, growth and synaptic formation, and neurotransmitter vesicle release (Miyamoto et al., 1995; Muallem et al., 1995). Transitions can occur rapidly (e.g. 40 solgel cycles per second), and some actin gels can be quite solid, and withstand deformation without transmitted response (Wacchstock et al., 1994). Cyclical encasement of microtubules by actin gels may thus be an ideal quantum isolation mechanism (Figure 8). , A biphasic cycle of microtubule computing is thus suggested: 1) a "sol" liquid, communicative phase of classical computation, and 2) a "gel" solid state, isolated quantum computing phase.
Figure 8. Schematic sequence of phases of actin gelation/quantum isolation (13) alternating with phases of solution/environmental communication (4) surrounding microtubules. Cycles may occur rapidly, e.g., 25 msec intervals (40Hz).
Key quantum events may also be shielded either in hollow microtubule cores or intra-protein hydrophobic pockets (where anesthetic gases are known to act). Feasibility of quantum coherence in the internal cell environment is supported by the observation that quantum spins from biochemical radical pairs which become separated retain their correlation in cytoplasm (Walleczek, 1995).
But if isolated cytoplasmic quantum states do occur within neuronal cells, could they traverse membranes and synapses to spread macroscopically throughout the brain? One possibility involves quantum tunneling through gap junctions, primitive electrotonic windows between neurons and glia (Figure 9). Cells interconnected by gap junctions form networks which fire synchronously, "behaving like one giant neuron" (Kandel et al, 1991), and possibly accounting for synchronized neural activity such as coherent 40 Hz (Jibu, 1990). Unlike chemical synapses which separate neural processes by 3050 nanometers, gap junction separations are 3.5 nanometers, within range for quantum tunneling. Widespread but unevenly distributed, high levels of gap junctions appear in thalamus and cortex (Micevych and Abelson, 1991). Thalamocortical networks of gap junctionconnected neurons with sol-gel phases coupled to synchronized 40 Hz activity could transiently isolate quantum states across large brain volumes.
Full rationale and details of the Orch OR model are given in Penrose and Hameroff (1995) and Hameroff and Penrose (1996a; 1996b). Key points are listed here:
Figure 9. Schematic of proposed quantum coherence in microtubules in three dendrites interconnected by tunneling through gap junctions. Within each neuronal dendrite, microtubuleassociatedprotein (MAP) attachments breach isolation and prevent quantum coherence; MAP attachment sites thus act as "nodes" which tune and orchestrate quantum oscillations and set possibilities and probabilities for collapse outcomes (orchestrated objective reduction: Orch OR). Gap junctions may enable quantum tunneling among dendrites in macroscopic quantum states.
Problem (1) subjective experience is the most difficult. How does the brain produce 'qualia', raw feelings and sensations? There have always been two types of answers. Socrates argued that consciousness was created by the cerebrum, whereas Thales, Plotinus and other "panpsychists" saw conscious experience as a fundamental feature of reality.
Modern functionalists/computationalists generally follow Socrates: consciousness emerges from complexity in the brain's neural networks. However others find this view alone unable to accommodate subjective experience, and are driven to embrace some form of panpsychism, or pan-experientialism.
Figure 10. A spin network. Introduced by Roger Penrose (1971) as a quantum mechanical description of the geometry of space, spin networks describe a spectrum of discrete Planck scale volumes and configurations (with permission from Smolin, 1997; Rovelli and Smolin, 1995a; 1995b). Average length of each edge is the Planck length (1033 cm). Numbers indicate quantum mechanical spin along each edge. Each quantum state of spacetime is a particular spin network (Smolin, 1997).
Following after ancient panpsychists, Spinoza (1677) assigned rudimentary consciousness to all particles and objects, and Leibniz (e.g. 1766) saw the universe as an infinite number of fundamental units ("monads"), each having a primitive psychological being. Whitehead (e.g. 1929) was a process philosopher who saw the universe as being comprised fundamentally of events. He described dynamic monads with spontaneity and creativity, interpreting them as mind-like entities of limited duration ("occasions of experience"). Each occasion, according to Whitehead, bears a quality akin to "feeling" by virtue of occurring in a "wider field of proto-conscious experience." Could this "wider field" be the universe itself? Could proto-conscious experience exist in empty space?
What is empty space? Democritus described empty space as a true void whereas Aristotle saw a background "plenum" filled with substance. Maxwell's 19th-century "luminiferous ether" sided with Aristotle but attempts to detect the ether failed and Einstein's special relativity agreed with Democritus: empty space was an absolute void. However Einstein's general relativity with its curved space and distorted geometry reverted to a richly-endowed plenumthe spacetime metric.
Figure 11. Schematic quantum computation in spacetime curvature for three mass distributions (e.g. tubulin conformations in Figure 5) which begin (left) in initial classical states, then enter isolated quantum superposition in which all possible states coexist. After reduction, one particular classical outcome state is chosen (right).
At very small scales spacetime is not smooth, but quantized. Granularity occurs at the incredibly small "Planck scale" (10-33 centimeters , 10-43 seconds) which Penrose (1971) portrays as a dynamical spider-web of quantum spin networks (Figure 10; Rovelli and Smolin, 1995a; 1995b; Smolin, 1997). Spin networks define spectra of discrete Planck scale volumes and configurations which dynamically evolve and define spacetime geometry. Planck-scale spin networks could provide Whitehead's basic field of proto-conscious experience. Shimony (1993) has suggested Whitehead occasions are quantum state reductions. As described in Section I, Penrose objective (quantum state) reductions are bubble-like separations and collapses in fundamental spacetime geometry extending downward to the level of spin networks. Figure 11 illustrates quantum superposition and objective reduction of spacetime geometry. Orch OR events could be Whitehead occasions of experience
In a panpsychist view consistent with modern physics, Planck scale spin networks encode proto-conscious ("funda-mental"") experience (qualia) as well as Platonic values. Particular configurations of quantum spin geometry convey particular varieties of proto-conscious experience, meaning and aesthetics. The proposed Orch OR events occur in the brain, extending downward to processes in an experiential Planck scale medium. The basic idea is that consciousness involves brain activities coupled to self-organizing ripples in fundamental reality.
How can near-infinitesimal proto-conscious information link to macroscopic biology? As described in Section VI, the Orch OR process may be an emergent phenomenon in quantum geometry mediated through London forces in hydrophobic pockets of tubulin and other proteins.
The second difficult issue related to consciousness is (2) binding and it is potentially resolved by the unitary nature of quantum states (e.g. Penrose, 1987). Marshall (1989) suggested that binding was a feature of Bose-Einstein condensates among certain of the brain's neural proteins. In the Orch OR model, an instantaneous event binds superposed information whose net mass/spacetime displacement reaches threshold at a particular moment: different modes and time scales of information are bound into a unitary "now" event.
Problem (3) is the transition from pre-conscious processing to consciousness itself. In Orch OR pre-conscious processing is equivalent to the quantum superposition phase of quantum computation. Potential possibilities interact and then abruptly self-collapse, a slight quake in spacetime geometry. As quantum state reductions are irreversible, cascades of Orch OR events present a forward flow of subjective time and "stream of consciousness."
Quantum computation with objective reduction is potentially applicable to cognitive activities. Functions like face recognition and volitional choice may require a series of conscious events arriving at intermediate solutions. For the purpose of illustration consider single Orch OR events in these two types of cognitive activities.
Imagine you briefly see a familiar woman's face. Is she Amy, Betty, or Carol? Possibilities may superpose in a quantum computation. For example during 25 milliseconds of pre-conscious processing, quantum computation occurs with information (Amy, Betty, Carol) in the form of "qubits"superposed states of microtubule tubulin subunits within groups of neurons. As threshold for objective reduction is reached, an instantaneous conscious event occurs. The superposed tubulin qubits reduce to definite states, becoming bits. Now, you recognize that she is Carol! (an immense number of possibilities could be superposed in a human brain's 1019 tubulins).
Figure 12. An Orch OR event (continued from Figure 4). a) (left) Three tubulins in quantum superposition prior to 25 msec Orch OR After reduction (right), particular classical states are selected. b) Fundamental spacetime geometry view. Prior to Orch OR (left), spacetime corresponding with three superposed tubulins is separated as Planck scale bubbles: curvatures in opposite directions. The Planckscale spacetime separations S are very tiny in ordinary terms, but relatively large mass movements (e.g., hundreds of tubulin conformations, each moving from 106 to 0.2 nm) indeed have precisely such very tiny effects on the spacetime curvature. A critical degree of separation causes Orch OR and an abrupt selection of single curvatures (and a particular geometry of experience). c) Cognitive facial recognition. A familiar face induces superposition (left) of three possible solutions (Amy, Betty, Carol) which "collapse" to the correct answer Carol (right). d) Cognitive volition. Three possible dinner selections (shrimp, sushi, pasta) are considered in superposition (left), and collapse via Orch OR to choice of sushi (right).
In a volitional act possible choices may be superposed. Suppose for example you are selecting dinner from a menu. During pre-conscious processing, shrimp, sushi and pasta are superposed in a quantum computation. As threshold for objective reduction is reached, the quantum state reduces to a single classical state. A choice is made. You'll have sushi!
How does the choice actually occur? Can the selection criteria be described by a deterministic algorithm? These questions relate to problems (4) non-computability and (5) free will.
The problem in understanding free will is that our actions seem neither totally deterministic nor random (probabilistic). What else is there in nature? As previously described, in OR (and Orch OR) the reduction outcomes are neither deterministic nor probabilistic, but "non-computable." The microtubule quantum superposition evolves linearly (analogous to a quantum computer) but is influenced at the instant of collapse by hidden non-local variables (? quantum-mathematical logic inherent in fundamental spacetime geometry). The possible outcomes are limited, or probabilities set ("orchestrated"), by neurobiological feedback (in particular microtubule associated proteins-MAPs, Figure 9). The precise outcomeour free will actionsare chosen by effects of the hidden logic on the quantum system poised at the edge of objective reduction.
Consider a sailboat analogy for free will. A sailor sets the sail in a certain way; the direction the boat sails is determined by the action of the wind on the sail. Let's pretend the sailor is a non-conscious robot zombie run by a quantum computer which is trained and programmed to sail. Setting and adjusting of the sail, sensing the wind and position and so forth are algorithmic and deterministic, and may be analogous to the pre-conscious, quantum computing phase of Orch OR. The direction and intensity of the wind (seemingly capricious, or unpredictable) may be analogous to Planck scale hidden non-local variables (e.g. "Platonic" quantum-mathematical logic inherent in space-time geometry). The choice, or outcome (the direction the boat sails, the point on shore it lands) depends on the deterministic sail settings acted on repeatedly by the apparently unpredictable wind. Our "free will" actions could be the net result of deterministic processes acted on by hidden quantum logic at each Orch OR event. This can explain why we generally do things in an orderly, deterministic fashion, but occasionally our actions or thoughts are surprising, even to ourselves.
Biological quantum computation intrinsic to brain function such as the proposed Orch OR model can in principle address difficult issues related to consciousness.
VI. Are microtubules quantum computers? The idea of biological quantum computation connected to fundamental geometry seems far-fetched. The Planck length is 24 orders of magnitude smaller than the diameter of an atom. Approximately 1078 discrete Planck scale volumes correspond to the space occupied by one protein, and 10105 such volumes to a brain. The energy of one proposed Orch OR (e.g. 25 msec) is only 10-28 joules, or 10-10 electron volts (eV) whereas the energy of thermal noise (kT) is much larger at 10-4 eV. How could near-infinitesimally small, weak and fast processes have macroscopic effects in biological systems? Orch OR may be viewed as a nonlinear phenomenon in which particular configurations of 1088 Planck scale volumes emerge 40 times per second to influence protein conformation through delicately balanced London forces. Conditions supporting quantum states and primitive consciousness would favor survival and have naturally evolved (Hameroff, 1998).
In an accompanying paper in this volume, Tuszynski and Brown (1998) review the physics of microtubules and critique the Orch OR proposal. They raise several issues which are discussed in Appendix I.
Here similarities are sought between microtubules and technological proposals for quantum computation. A "potentially realizable" quantum computer has been described by Lloyd (1993) as ". . . arrays of weakly coupled quantum systems. Computation is effected by . . . . a sequence of electromagnetic pulses that induce transitions between locally defined quantum states. . . in a crystal lattice."
In the Orch OR model, the microtubule assembly corresponds to Lloyd's crystal lattice. Rather than trapped ions or nuclear spins, quantum superposition is proposed to occur at the level of conformational states of tubulins, and the role of pulsed transitions played by coherent Frhlich excitations.
The Orch OR proposal may be compared to technological schemes in terms of a "Figure of Merit M" (Table 1; Barenco, 1996; DiVincenzo, 1995). M is the time Tdecohere until decoherence divided by the time telem of each elementary operation, and gives the number of operations allowable per computational unit before decoherence. With telem of 109 secs (Frhlich frequency) and Tdecohere of e.g. 100 msec (EEG alpha), the Orch OR model yields a respectable M of 108 operations per tubulin before a conscious event occurs.
TableFigure of Merit M for different proposed quantum computing technologies and microtubules. (Modified from Barenco, 1996 and from DiVincenzo, 1995).
According to the proposals put forth in the Orch OR model, microtubules seem to be well designed (perhaps ideally designed) quantum computers. If so, technological efforts can possibly mimic some of nature's design principles such as cylindrical lattice automata and alternating phases of isolation and communication. The massive parallelism and specific microtubule lattice geometry (e.g. helical patterns following the Fibonacci series) may also facilitate quantum error correction. However technology will be hard-pressed to emulate objective reduction which, it is argued, is required for consciousness. Presently envisioned technological quantum computers will implement superposition of ions, electrons, nuclei or other small entities. To achieve objective reduction in a reasonable and useful time scale, a fairly large superposed mass (i.e. nanograms) will be required. While such a task seems formidable, it is possible. Quantum computation with objective reduction may hold the only promise for conscious computers.
Regardless of whether or not the Orch OR proposal turns out to be correct (and unlike most theories of consciousness it is testable - Appendix 2), it is the type of multi-level, trans-disciplinary approach needed to address the problem of consciousness.

Appendix 1. Reply to Tuszynski and Brown
In an accompanying article in this volume, Tuszynski and Brown (1998) review physics of microtubules and critique the Orch OR proposal. They raise several issues discussed here.
Gravitational effects should be entirely overshadowed by the remaining processes. The energy from an Orch OR event is indeed very small compared to thermal noise (kT) and would seemingly drown in an aqueous medium. Isolation/insulation mechanisms are thus required to shield microtubules from thermal noise or any type of environmental decoherence. The Orch OR model suggests that quantum coherent superposition occurs in microtubules which are immediately surrounded by an insulating charge condensation and encased (cyclically) in actin gelation (Section III). Cyclical isolation allows for alternating phases of communication (input/output) and isolated quantum computation.
In addition to isolation, microtubule subunits (tubulins) must also be sensitive to quantum influences from other superposed tubulins and non-computable influences in Planck scale geometry. In questioning the robustness of proposed quantum effects, Tuszynski and Brown ascribe the gravitational energy for a tubulin protein in Orch OR to be the attraction between two masses given by the standard Gm2/r, where G is the gravitational constant, m is the mass of tubulin, and r is the distance between the two masses which Tuszynski and Brown take to be the radius of tubulin. This would accurately describe the gravitational attraction between two adjacent tubulins (or tubulin monomers), and yields an appropriately small energy of 10-27 eV. However the relevant energy in Orch OR is the gravitational self-energy E of a superposed mass m separated from itself by distance a, given (for complete separation) by E=Gm2/a. In Hameroff and Penrose (1996) we calculated this energy for three cases: 1) partial separation of the entire protein by one tenth its radius, and 2) complete separation at the level of each proteins atomic nuclei (a=2.5 fermi lengths), and 3) complete separation at the level of each protein's nucleons (a=0.5 fermi). Of these, highest energies were for separation at the level of atomic nuclei, roughly 10-21 eV per tubulin (although separation at the level of, say, atoms or amino acids may yield higher energy). As roughly 2 x 1010 tubulins are involved in each proposed Orch OR event (e.g. for superpositions lasting 25 msec) the energy is on the order of roughly 10-10 eV, or 10-28 joules, still extremely tiny (kT is about 10-4 eV). However the 10-28 joule energy emerges abruptly, e.g. within one Planck time of 10-43 seconds. This may be equivalent to an instantaneous jab of 1013watts (joules/sec), roughly 1 kilowatt per tubulin.
The size of the tubulin protein is probably too large to make quantum effects easily sustainable. Nanometer size proteins such as tubulin (8 nm x 4 nm x 4 nm) may be optimal scale for a quantum/macroscopic interface (Watterson 1991, Conrad 1994). Smaller biomolecules lack causal efficacy of structural protein conformational changes responsible for a host of biological functions. Larger molecules would be insufficiently sensitive to quantum effects.
Conformational effects are expected to involve distances of 10 angstroms (1 nanometer), larger than those called for in the Orch OR model. The superposition separation distance (e.g. 1 atomic nucleus, 10-6 nanometer in the case cited) is indeed much smaller than conformational changes which may approach 1 nanometer. As described in Section II proteins are relatively unstable and their conformation regulated through nonlinear "quakes" mediated through quantum-level London forces.
Physiological temperature requirements make it extremely difficult to defend the use of the quantum regime due to the persistence of thermal noise. A biological quantum state must be isolated/insulated from thermal noise, a feature nature may have evolved in cytoplasmic actin gelation and condensed charged layers (Section III). Some evidence supports biological quantum states (e.g. Tejada et al, 1996; Walleczek, 1995). According to the Frhlich mechanism, thermal energy in biological systems may condense to a coherent mode.
EI>microtubules are extremely sensitive to their environmentEe doubt that microtubules can be shielded. As described in Section III, nature may have solved the problem of both isolation and communication by alternating cytoplasmic phases of solution ("sol", liquid, sensitive to environment, classical) and gelation ("gel", solid, shielded/insulated, quantum). Thus microtubules can be both sensitive to their environment ("sol" phase) and isolated/shielded ("gel" phase).
Ewo (or possibly more) conformational states of tubulin are separated by a sizable potential barrier which again requires an external stimulus (such as GTP hydrolysis) to overcome it. Tubulin has numerous possible conformations which can interchange without GTP hydrolysis (Section II). The two state tubulin model is a simplification. The structure of tubulin has recently been clarified (Nogales et al, 1998) so molecular simulations will soon be available.
Ehe 500 msec preconscious processing time may be directly related to the action potential travel time along the axon plus the refractory lag time in synaptic transmission rather than to the quantum collapse time. In the Orch OR model the "quantum collapse time" T is chosen to match known neurophysiological time intervals related to pre-conscious processes; the gravitational self-energy E and related mass may then be calculated. For example we have used 25 msec (e.g. in coherent 40 Hz oscillations), 100 msec (e.g. EEG alpha rhythm), and 500 msec (e.g. Libet's pre-conscious threshold for low intensity sensory stimuli).
If quantum superposition correlates with pre-conscious processing, then dendritic activities (more than axonal firings) are likely to be relevant to consciousness (e.g. Pribram, 1991). Microtubules in dendrites are of mixed polarity (unlike those in axons), an arrangement conducive to cooperative computation.
Tuszynski and Brown raise valid objections; quantum states in a biological milieu appear at first glance to be unlikely. However nature may have evolved specific conditions for isolation, thermal screening and amplification. Life itself may be a macroscopic quantum state.
Appendix 2. Testable predictions of the Orch OR model
Here major assumptions (bold) and corresponding testable predictions (numbered) of the Orch OR model are listed:
Neuronal microtubules are directly necessary for consciousness
1. Synaptic sensitivity and plasticity correlate with cytoskeletal architecture/activities in both presynaptic and postsynaptic neuronal cytoplasm.
2. Actions of psychoactive drugs including antidepressants involve neuronal microtubules.
3. Neuronal microtubulestabilizing/protecting drugs may prove useful in Alzheimer's disease, ischemia, and other conditions.
Microtubules communicate by cooperative dynamics of tubulin subunits
4. Laser spectroscopy (e.g. Vos et al, 1993) will demonstrate coherent gigaHz Frhlich excitations in microtubules.
5. Dynamic vibrational states in microtubule networks correlate with cellular activity.
6. Stable patterns of microtubulecytoskeletal networks (including neurofilaments) and intramicrotubule diversity of tubulin states correlate with memory and neural behavior.
7. Cortical dendrites contain largely "Alattice" microtubules (compared to "Blattice" microtubule, Alattice microtubules are preferable for information processingTuszynski et al., 1995)
Quantum coherence occurs in microtubules
8. Studies similar to the famous "Aspect experiment" in physics (which verified nonlocal quantum correlationsAspect et al., 1982) will demonstrate quantum correlations between spatially separated microtubule subunit states a) on the same microtubule, b) on different microtubules in the same neuron, c) on microtubules in different neurons connected by gap junctions.
9. Experiments with SQUIDs (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) such as those suggested by Leggett (1984) will detect phases of quantum coherence in microtubules.
10. Coherent photons will be detected from microtubules.
Microtubule quantum coherence requires isolation by cycles of surrounding actingelation
11. Neuronal microtubules in cortical dendrites and other brain areas are intermittently surrounded by tightly cross-linked actin gels.
12. Cycles of gelation and dissolution in neuronal cytoplasm occur concomitantly with membrane electrical activity (e.g. synchronized 40 Hz activities in dendrites).
13. The solgel cycles surrounding microtubules are regulated by calcium ions released and reabsorbed by calmodulin associated with microtubules.
Macroscopic quantum coherence occurs among MT in hundreds/thousands of distributed neurons and glia linked by gap junctions
14. Electrotonic gap junctions link synchronously firing networks of cortical neurons, and thalamocortical networks
15. Quantum tunneling occurs across gap junctions.
16. Quantum correlation occurs between microtubule subunit states in different neurons connected by gap junctions (the microtubule "Aspect experiment" in different neurons)
The amount of neural tissue involved in a conscious event is inversely proportional to the event time by E=hbar/T
17. The amount of neural mass involved in a particular cognitive task or conscious event (as measurable by nearfuture advances in brain imaging techniques) is inversely proportional to the preconscious time (e.g. visual perception, reaction times).
An isolated, unperturbed quantum system selfcollapses according to E=hbar/T
18. Isolated technological quantum superpositions will selfcollapse according to E=/T. (Preliminary discussions of such experiments involving superposition of crystals have begun between Roger Penrose and Anton Zeilinger.)
Microtubulebased cilia/centriole structures are quantum optical devices
19. Microtubulebased cilia in rods and cones directly detect visual photons and connect with retinal glial cell microtubule via gap junctions.
A critical degree of cytoskeletal assembly (coinciding with the onset of rudimentary consciousness) had significant impact on the rate of evolution.
Fossil records and comparison with presentday biology will show that organisms which emerged during the early Cambrian period with onset roughly 540 million years ago had critical degrees of microtubulecytoskeletal size, complexity and capability for quantum isolation (e.g. tight actin gels, gap junctions; see Hameroff, 1998b).

Did human extraterrestrials visit Earth -- and predict a Golden Age will culminate in the year 2012, freeing us from evil, fear and doom?
Did the founding fathers of America inherit this prophecy -- and encode it directly into the Great Seal of the United States? Why is there a pyramid with an eye inside a glowing triangle? Is Novus Ordo Seclorum quoted from an ancient prophecy text -- the greatest and most secret treasure of the Roman Empire -- predicting that humans on Earth will transmute into "light beings" and achieve Apotheosis -- where Man becomes God -- and the 'Gods' themselves return?
David Wilcock reveals the stunning scientific proof that DNA and biological life emerge directly out of the Source Field... a universal matrix of energy creating all space, time, matter, energy, biological life and consciousness -- and we are indeed about to experience the Greatest Moment of All Time. Learn about the pineal gland, Illuminati, government conspiracy, UFOs, DMT, the Mayan Calendar and more!
‘In a recent interview on Waking Times aired on The People’s Voice Network, Dr. Eben Alexander, Harvard Neurosurgeon presents compelling scientific research in the field of consciousness that examines the unfolding reality that the brain does NOT create consciousness. Misleading concepts that focus on reductive materialism have kept us in the dark about the true nature of the human soul and its integral part in our evolution as spiritual beings.
“The old paradigm of birth to death represents an outdated concept that is woefully inadequate in defining the unfolding reality of expanded awareness,” he stated in the interview with Waking Times. “Materialist science is at the end of its days as most scientists are changing their views. The old concepts are soon to be relegated to the same dust bin as ‘the earth is flat’ as we develop a more mature understanding and transcend old beliefs.”’
‘A team of physicists has provided some of the clearest evidence yet that our Universe could be just one big projection.
In 1997, theoretical physicist Juan Maldacena proposed1 that an audacious model of the Universe in which gravity arises from infinitesimally thin, vibrating strings could be reinterpreted in terms of well-established physics. The mathematically intricate world of strings, which exist in nine dimensions of space plus one of time, would be merely a hologram: the real action would play out in a simpler, flatter cosmos where there is no gravity.’
‘Biocentrism teaches that life and consciousness are fundamental to the universe. It is consciousness that creates the material universe, not the other way around.
Lanza points to the structure of the universe itself, and that the laws, forces, and constants of the universe appear to be fine-tuned for life, implying intelligence existed prior to matter.
He also claims that space and time are not objects or things, but rather tools of our animal understanding.
Lanza says that we carry space and time around with us “like turtles with shells.” meaning that when the shell comes off (space and time), we still exist.’
All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force... We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter.
Consciousness is at once the most familiar and the most mysterious feature of our existence. A new science of consciousness is now revealing its biological basis.
Once considered beyond the reach of science, the neural mechanisms of human consciousness are now being unravelled at a startling pace by neuroscientists and their colleagues. I've always been fascinated by the possibility of understanding consciousness, so it is tremendously exciting to witness – and take part in – this grand challenge for 21st century science
‘For thousands of years, humanity has inched its way toward greater spiritual maturity. Most human beings have been caught in the dense karmic energies of the earth plane, lifetime after lifetime, and have made very slow progress.
Only a few lone individuals from time to time have reached what’s been called “enlightenment” or liberation from suffering.
Although some of these individuals have stepped forward, bringing significant spiritual teachings to the planet, these teachings have inevitably been watered down into what have become religions—a process which has in many ways distorted and diluted the teachings.
A growing number of individuals in recent years have begun a conscious process of awakening. This has been significant in beginning to shift the consciousness of the planet; yet, still these numbers have been relatively small, considering the billions of people now alive on the earth.’
‘As portions of the One, we are immortal. We have chosen to ‘play’ in space-time, the earth plane of Limitation. Caught in temporal mortal forms, our human body, veiled in the illusion of separation and Samsara, the cyclical ocean of death & birth, we fear our impending inevitable death.
While enjoying the adventure of Limitation, human beings since ancient times have fervently sought immortality. From the Akkadian Gilgamesh to the alchemist Sir Isaac Newton, eternal life has been the burning desire of many, especially the rich and powerful. Throughout our current Kali Yuga, all of written history, men and women have longed for immortality in the hope of prolonging their present identity and perhaps even bodily form. Yet most remain deluded — bound in our self-imposed sojourn.
There are now 176 billion observable galaxies. There are trillions of stars, each of which in all probability may have at lease one inhabitable planet awaiting life forms. There is no reason to assume that the numerous extra terrestrial races have no part in the seeding and colonization of planets. Indeed the idea that earth was seeded by various off-planet beings is not in conflict with the metaphysical traditions of consciousness and enlightenment found in the Sanskrit texts.’
‘As though to confirm the hunch many of us had that our ‘junk’ DNA was anything but disposable, researchers from the Gene and Stem Cell Therapy Program at Sydney’s Centenary Institute have proven that 97 percent of human DNA programs or encodes proteins in our bodies. One of the researchers involved in this study said, “this discovery, involving what was previously referred to as “junk,” opens up a new level of gene expression control . . .”
This also means there are multiple modalities that mainstream science has yet to give a nod to, which just might re-train or reprogram our DNA — even cells which have become cancerous or are mutilated by the onslaught of toxins in our environment and negative emotional baggage which has been proven to have an undesirable impact on health. Many people have compared human DNA to the Internet. It communicates immense amounts of information in microcosmically small, but significant ways, mimicking a vast network of information portals, not unlike the billions of websites connected to one another all over the world. It may account for our intuition, spontaneous healing, and a number of other phenomena that mainstream science is just beginning to understand.’
